Aye the Rogic thing didn't quite work and just removed some cutting edge from our play. I definitely feel we could have gotten more runners getting beyond their defensive line, but hey ho.

Hopefully we've learned our lesson and, with a little more gametime in the legs, we'll get the result we need in midweek.

My view on Yesterday (For what's its worth).

From a Celtic view - Excellent performance, McGregor showing why his class with a great hatrick. I was delighted to see Kouassi getting some game-time and he looked very good, strong on the ball, great engine etc. Really dominant performance, with Ajer, Ralston both looking impressive. The future, is bright. Well deserved victory. I'm wondering it Ajer should start v Rosenborg or whether to put Erik back in.

Our lot have given massive credit to the Celtic fans who made it a really good atmosphere.

From a Sunderland view - Dreadful, no coherence, McGeady - Awful, Cattermole look like he had lead in his boots, slower than normal which is saying something. Defensively, all over the place, it's only a friendly but warning signs for Grayson, we look ill-prepared for the coming season.

    :38:

On the trouble between the fans

I was working so wasn't at the game, from what I can gather, the * idiot EDL group were trying to cause trouble outside the Peacock, with one wearing a Rangers shirt to wind people up, idiot was put on his * and deserved too.

This is what happened from a Sunderland perspective....

    https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/edl-idiots-outside-the-peacock-after-the-game.1381609/

I'm sure some one from here who was there will help clarify the situation.

Anyway, I'm sorry for this */knobs, I hope most of you enjoyed the match (If you can glorify it by calling it that - More a beating) and had a pleasant day without much trouble.

Spent most of the say in Newcastle. Quite funny the amount of Geordies that were genuinely ecstatic about us beating Sunderland in a friendly :giggle1:

Frank fell asleep on the Metro and ended up Christ Knows where. Andy missed the last train home and is no long back and Davy fell over * and ended up in hospital so all in all a good days play :giggle1:

What is the obsession with flares and smoke bombs with some of our fans.
It is a matter of time before somebody gets hurt .

I think it's because they're been told not to do it :86: Doesn't matter how many times you say what if? Someone who's asthmatic or someone who's invalided in such a way they can't get out of the road of them cuts no ice with the folk who want them. The fact that there's a potential for disaster is derided but there have been instances abroad where a few individuals have suffered serious consequences......burns and in one particular case a child apparently died. But hey ho they add colour and we're doing it cos we were asked not to.

I might add this isn't unique to Celtic fans in Britain .

Celtic fans are expected to appear in court in England on Monday after 19 arrests were made at a ‘friendly’ tie in Sunderland. Hoops supporters were involved in running street battles with locals on Saturday, resulting in at least one supporter being admitted to hospital with head injuries.

    And the article finishes;

Celtic fans used the website ‘kerrydale street’ to condemn the sale of alcohol inside the stadium, which they feel helped fuel trouble.

The problem is folks fascination by getting steaming, even though they're going to watch a game of football. By all means have a few but the state some folk get into at games is a disgrace at times. You then have to spend 90 minutes in their proximity, listening to pish talk.

In amongst all the slevering and incoherent stuff. He said some players don't give a * about playing for Sunderland. When asked who, he replied you tell me. Then folk started rhyme off names, while he never personally said or agreed, he just responded "Next" when names were mentioned (Jermain Lens, Wahbi Khazri, somebody Kone as well). In the context it could easily be construed as reaffirming his previous points.

Wasn't his greatest moment I wouldn't think and never covered himself in any glory, especially given the subject of discussion. Also quite poor that it was filmed, however Gibson got himself into a questionable situation.
