Don't need McFadden after signing Riordan. Defence is where we need to concentrate on. We desperately need class in defence, I would go for Arca at Sunderland.

 

The only position I worry about is LB and the gap that Petrov (might/will) leave. Unfortunately my scouting abilities don't go further than Football manager so I can't really recommend anyone...

Malbranque (if we could pay his wages) and personally I found nothing wrong with Stephen Crainey! I thought he was particularly good. Anyway this guy Mulgrew might prove to be a good player who knows...

 

Varga & Dublin's contract are expiring this summer. Lennon's is aswell but that may get renewed.

About Petrov, we dont need him for next season, there are players already at Celtic that can do his job, however signing someone else would help.
Granted Petrov is of more value today than Sutton, but he is NOT missed!
By the way I am very curious to see who will come in for Petrov, and what the money offer will be?
He is of value today, I will say around 2 to 3 million pounds?

 

I think celtic will persist with the ono situ...the whole japanese marketing issue will take precedence over abillity

 

Ono has great ability, he could fill petrov boots anyday, i rate him as better than petrov tbfh!

 

Paul Hartley would b a gr8 player for the team

 

He wont leave Hearts and they dont want to sell so we may forget about him.

Ono+Naka=Lots of revenue money

 

I doubt we'll pursue Ono, injury prone by all accounts, if Keane stays he certainly won't manage 40 games so we need a reliable sort. I think we'd be foolish to do it purely because of merchandising. Now we are assured CL football next season its going to be even tougher, we will need a large, strong squad to cope. I think the talk of binning Lennon and Hartson is absurd, we really need two players for each position and potentially two teams - one for SPL and one for the CL so they will certainly play if they stay on. I hope this is WGS idea as far as our signings so far are concerned, deploying them in the SPL, ideally he'll bring in 3/4 CL class players now.

I like McManus, what about Breen for nothing, as a fill in better than you know who!

 

Gary Breen? I've watched him for most of his career, dodgy at best and now well past his best days. Varga is a better squad option than Breen

 

Agreed Dempsey, could not have Breen on my mind. Varga has been offered a new i year contract. I also agree with what Joehill2006 said earlier about our squad size, we will need a big squad for SPL & CL next year, but i would NOT break the bank to keep lennon for another year. I think the players that have to go are

Sadly Telfer has another year on his contract, hopefully there won't be too much sucking going on and he will be confined to smaller SPL games to rest Wilson.

I do think we need more quality at the back and now that the CL money is there, i think we should try and get Robert Huth, his price tag is 5 million, he is only 21. This is the kind of player Celtic should be buying, even if it is only 1 quality player per year. A lot of these other players can be replaced with Div 1 players in England imo.
