Can't believe people are downplaying this. This is not acceptable behavior for a 4 year old, let alone a player of his quality who has now at the very least has been found guilty of this TWICE.

As a player he is with few peers in the world, but that does not condone what he has done - and has continued to do - nor should exceptions allowed to be made. It wasn't that long ago he was also found guilty of having made racist behaviour also. Football fans around the world are watching the current WC. Millions of kids are watching and idolozing players like Suarez and if they see this as what is acceptable for the elite, what is to say it is not repeated to the playground. Especially if more leniant punishments for someone that is GUILTY are imposed. There needed to be a more stringent code for repeats of this nature, and as draconian ss that sounds, if people are not going to learn by mere slap on wrists.

Once bitten, twice shy. So what does it mean for the twice biter? :97:

Right so what about the guys who badly injure others, headbutt and what not? Thats worse to me than biting.

Not in any way am I condoning mongrels like that either. Remember * like Kevin Muscat who literally had a body count in terms of players whose careers they ended should also have been dealt with in a similar manner.

But biting cannot be condoned, under any circumstance, let alone for repeat offenders.

I know, the guys not right in the head and something is clearly broken from childhood.

I just think there's been an overreaction to it. Like if we are going to go harsh on him, then I'd like us to go harsh on repeat offenders who headbutt and tackle inappropriately.

Its because its so unusual that we want his head on a stick. It stands out, rather than a bad, bad tackle.

I think the only solution here is to get him to wear a muzzle.

He got a seven game ban the first time he did it. Ten games when he bit Ivanovic. So for people to say he should only get 3/4 game ban is madness in my opinion.

There's no competitive football in July and the first two weeks in August. So four months almost becomes 2 and a half. He'll miss about 15 games for Liverpool. Which is harsh on them, but it's his own fault for being a nutcase!!

I think Liverool will get it reduced (for them). Court of Arbitration will side with them (if they can do it there?).

Perfectly suitable punishment given the recurring nature of what he done, so well done FIFA. A worldwide football ban and the shame of being remembered as one of the highlights of this World Cup for all the wrong reasons, may spur Suarez on to solve these issues that he has although it looks far too ingrained for that.

See it is quite interesting legally, if Liverpool challenge it, will they be entitled for compensation at all? They are basically being punished, for something that never happened whilst playing for them.

I suppose they would need to make a case AGAINST Suarez, chase him personally for compo.

If you or I bit someone and got the jail (or a home-stay tag), then we can't go into work. Our work may have invested a fair bit of their money on training us for the role.

Would our work get compensation for this? Naw!

Liverpool have a decison to make (as would our employers). Get shot and get someone else, or suck it up and keep his job open for him.

The guy has some serious mental help problems. Liverpool and Uruguay's best player and he can't play with either for months. Maybe he'll learn not to do it again, sounds strange saying that when talking about a grown man and not a 3 year old

Can't understand why Liverpool have a problem with it, he is their player, they pay his wages, he will still get paid by them this month, if he chooses to bite someone on a football pitch, then they, as his employer, suffer the consequences, if the club had any class, they should sack him, for gross misconduct and fine him four months wages,

And where's he gonna get four months wages from if they sack him? :56::56::56:
