He walked away with a statue of it being desicated to him :56:

Suarez will get a hefty ban and rightly so, this locked up patter deserves a boot to the berries or a Suarez to the nose.

Bit of revisionism going on here. Dunno where the idea Cantona wasn't vilified is coming from. He was.

Not nearly as much though and he was always seen as a cult-hero, rather than a scummy nutcase. The vilification (if any) was never long lasted.

Even if you disregard him, what about Roy Keane and trying to injure a guy deliberately? Zidane aswell - everyone remembers it but many seem to think of it as funny or legendary. Even though what he did was immensely dangerous.

Cult hero amongst the Man Utd fans at the time. Vilified by everyone else. He even considered giving up football. It's only now he is seen as a cult hero by fellow football fans, me included!
As for Roy Keane this was a personal vendetta, read his book. It explains a lot. Doesn't make it right, but he was a different sort of nut on the pitch!

A 2 match ban, and file his teeth down should be enough imo.

Maybe make him wear a set of those rubber bendy teeth out of Tam Sheperds.

I'm surprised a sponsor hasn't asked to advertise on his teeth yet.

I don't want to trivialise any of these incidents or get into trying to measure them against each other. For me the big difference with Suarez is he keeps doing the same thing over again. I agree with Ian Wright I mean to do that at a world cup under such scrutiny shows he just can't help himself.

Blown up or not, he should still be banned for that.

Doubt he'll get the full two years but would love to see him get at least a year ban. An absolute animal.

I'm assuming he'll at least be banned for Uruguay's next games?

A 2 year ban would probably be the most excessive punishment ever handed out. Yes he should get a hefty ban, 10 games at the most bit anything else would be over the top imo. If he'd went 2 footed into him and broke his leg then he'd probably be looking at a 3 game ban tops, so how the * can that merit a 2 year ban?
