Considering the circumstances it's a brilliant bit of business. £7 million into the kitty to use to bring in a quality replacement and further improve our potential to improve crucial areas of the squad.

Really really hope this doesn't lead to an inflated fee for someone like John McGinn though :40:

He’s a good player but he’s someone we needed to sell. He’s replaceable and he was never signing a contract.

Realistically he only had one good season here (albeit a very good season).

Rogic is a superior player to him and signed a new 5 year contract so not disappointed in this at all.

£7 million + add ons for a squad player with a year left on his year his deal is great business.

He didn’t want to commit to us and I rate Rogic and McGregor above him.

    Cya Stu :bye1:

Quite happy with £7 million for him. Shows how out of control transfer fees are getting though.

Would’ve been gutted if it was the start of last season as he was excellent in invincible season but his heart wasn’t in it last season so good luck to him but Fs are we feeder club for Southampton
Wanyama, van dijk, Forster now Armstrong

I'll take 7 mill. Good business for the chap considering the contract circumstances.
Feeling a slight bit of conflicton tho as not a single other central mid we have drives forward as much as he does. To me him being missing a lot and/or not quite in the form of last season contributed to the big decrease in goals.
I'd be very open to McGinn for 3 plus Allen now.

Armstrong always had mixed opinions from many fans. Love him or not we always expected this and the fee seems good business. Personally I always felt Armstrong wasted too many forward opportunities with long shoots.

Enjoy your dough and the scrap to avoid relegation. His heart was never at Celtic

Hold the fort he's still to do his medical. They might find out he's suffering from greedy bastarditis.

In a footballing sense the only way is down for him playing for a club like Southampton.

Davis is a vastly superior footballer to Stu.

    Exactly. Pure *. That's what I'm saying.

Need to look at the context.

He didn't even have a full good season it was more like 6 months then after that he fanced himself for a move down south

So ranging from 4 to 7m plus add ons. I'll split it and say 5.5m plus add ons which is fair for a player that will be free soon. I wish he had his heart here and wanted to stay but he doesn't so it was nice knowing you. Had his moments but not consistent as I think he is someone who sees it as a job rather than enjoying what he does. but at the least worth how much we paid for him which was little.
