I would prefer Stuart. Funny old game, I didn't think he was going to be good enough 12 months ago!

If he has to be sold then so be it. I'm a bit surprised a contract wasn't on the table last year.

Be devastated if he goes, few weeks back was talk of him replacing Brown as captain and a long term deal, and now the doubt has triumphed over everybody.

Sign up or leave, don't want players who are not committed to the team.

He's fantastic and would be devastated to lose him but we go on if it happens

He's obviously for the off . The contract would be done by now if he was staying on.

If we got £10m for Armstrong I'd be over the moon ,as good as he was last year I don't see him reaching new heights and i think we need even more from that area of the field especially in europe

People need to calm tfd ,seriously ,not aimed at you but he has went from our best player or one of,to get him to * if he drags this on ,he will get a good deal ,one br believes he is worth ,i think it may be a shorter one than we all want .

Replace a 17 goal a season midfielder with a guy who never, ever scores?

Still confident he will stay. Brendan seems confident so I am confident.

Dont worry I'm quite calm. I really want him to stay just quoting what was written. If it was true though and someone offered 10million it would be worth a thought.

I'm a big fan of Armstrong, his energy and drive for the full 90 minutes is exceptional. He's an important player for us now but are we important for him and also, how much does Stuart live for the game.

There are a couple of observations to keep in mind regarding his ambitions and commitment to Celtic. Some of these are contradictory but none the less.

Prior to him signing and just after his signing he stated he was actually keen on moving south and still hopes to.

During his Celtic career he states he's playing the best football of his career and owes a lot to BR, happy at Celtic.

Now this one struck me a few times watching him during goal, cup and league celebrations. Unsure if it's because he's reserved or introvert but he seemed to shy away from letting himself go with the players and fans during celebrations.

He's a lawyer, clearly a smart guy. Does he play for adulation, for the game or is he focused on maximising his income until he retires. Does he strike you as the type of guy that would live for football, become a coach or manager or would he persue a law career.

As fans, sometimes we try figure out what's going on in a players head, especially at a club like Celtic where our fans really do give our all for our players.

You'll read comments all the time, 'if he doesn't sign soon, sell, don't want players that won't commit right away'. Same applies to potential transfer targets.

So with Stuart, going on my gut feeling, I think he would remain at Celtic but he's smart, he'd want to maximise his salary, as close to what he'd pull down south, being 25 this would be important as he's likely only got 2 more good contracts left in him.

He's maybe pushing for more than Pete/BR want to offer and maybe he's waiting for the EPL teams to become more active in the market to see what may arrive on the table.

Apologies for the long winded brain fart, I find this Armstrong saga interesting, moreso than the Pat one as we are pretty clear on Pats ambitions. Read a quote today and thought I'd read between the lines.

Only if there is no doubt we will lose him, 10 mill guarantees fek all when buying a player now, but you know wot your gonna get with stu ,goals and energy by the bucket load , and everything else he brings.

I have a feeling he'll be off unfortunately. Talks have dragged on for too long now. Hope I'm wrong.
