    Whenever I see this thread on the home page I'm always left disappointed when it's not his new contract finalised.

    Got the horrible feel of Joe Ledley about it all over again. Where it seemed so certain he was signing a new deal you didn't really worry about it, next minute he was gone.

    I'm still confident it will get done, but it's taking a bit longer than you'd like.

    Would hazard a guess its the complete opposite.

    There really hasnt been any link to other clubs.
    Amazing season last year, clearly liked a lot by management. First team player, great development etc etc etc.

    And isnt he still doing his law degree?
    I would guesa 2 things in relation to that. 1 he will want to stay where he is to continue that and 2 he will have been extremely busy with deadlines etc over the last few months. So contract talks have probably taken a massive step back till we get back to Scotland.

    Could just be holding out for the best possible deal for himself. He knows there are clubs that have seen him play and could give him more money and could be using that to negotiate the absolute most we will give him. We will need to watch though because Ra Rainjurz huv mullions tae spend and are flingin it at tap drawer playurz

    If he doesn't sign he will be sold before the end of the window. I assume he's thinking his first team game time will be limited if we do sign someone truly great to lift the team in midfield.

    His degree is through the Open University so wouldn't be impacted by any move and I believe this was meant to be his final year.

    Started it in 2013 and it's a 6 year course...

    Regardless, his degree course won't be a major factor. It'll be whether or not the increase in wages he's bound to be offered is what he wanted in comparison with what he'll be capable or earning elsewhere.
