He's always had the talent to succeed here, he shown that at Dundee. Under Deila, he was never right mentally. Can't blame him tbh...

Again on Friday night he was all over the pitch, literally covered every blade of grass. He just adds everything we need, fits the bill for whats needed next to Brown and helping out Rogic. If he keeps it up then he has that spot nailed for next season.

How many motm performances has he had recently?

And we've still got one wee * saying he's *.

Tbf - he also says Brown is *, Efe's good and that Watt is better than Griffiths.

I wouldn't tire of punching him in the balls :84:

Rodgers saying what we all know. Wee dig at Bitton.

“I thought the midfield three were brilliant [at the Etihad]. They were up against three proper players,” he said. “I felt at the beginning of the campaign you had Scott Brown in midfield playing against two/three and now we have three players.

“How we play they all have to be connected, they have to be together, there won’t be any one of them better than all three but all three of them have to learn how to play together: how to be synchronised in terms of their movement, their spaces, their positioning both to press the ball and to attack it. The three midfield players were brilliant, in terms of their energy to press.

“You do well to see Man City play so many long-balls from their goalkeeper and back three. And that’s the tactical idea of the team and then their positioning when they had the ball, how they rolled out of pressure.

“Stu [Armstrong] is getting better all the time, in terms of understanding about consolidating the game in certain areas of the field, how you have to keep the ball at that level and keep it with a purpose. Not be frightened to make simple passes. But I’ve been proud of them all and now we must carry on and keep believing in what we’re doing and keep developing.”

I think it was justified mate. He wasn't injured (like Brown for example), he was just played out of position. RD obviously takes some blame but I bet that if Rodgers played him in the same position as last year, he'd be no where near as bad.

He did have some decent games too tbf. Motherwell in the last game for example.

To be fair under Delia he was almost always played out on the left when as we can clearly see by far his best position is in the middle. I think that has been a big factor that Rodgers was prepared to give him a chance playing in his best position.

Do Brown/Armstrong come into the same quality bracket as Wanyama/Ledley/Kayal? Of course they don't, which is why going into next season we must strengthen those positions with better players. Fair enough they're having decent enough seasons but going forward we need better.

If you're talking about this season then yes they do. Wanyama was a cut above so it's unfair comparing them to him.

Brown is better than Kayal and as much as I love Ledley, Armstrong on this form is every bit as good if not better. Whether he can keep it up remains to be seen.

In Ledley's highest scoring season in the SPL he scored 7 goals. Armstrong already has 6 this season.

What do they have anything to do with Armstrong? Armstrongs proved against Manchester City, Barcelona, and Monchengladbach that he can cut it against top opposition. If he continues this form, he's a solid option in the midfield with Brown. We still need one or two more midfielders but Rodgers knows this and will sort it out.

Believe it or not, there are players not named Hooper, Wanyama, and Bitton that can actually do a great job for Celtic.

Considering Brown was captain of the club and first name on the team sheet (like he is now) when they were all at the club then I would say yes, hes quite obviously in the same bracket if not higher than those players.

'Of course they dont' - You really are clueless.

    Whit?

Out of all the players you've mentioned, Brown has put in the best performances for our club. You can't even try to argue that.

When Kayal was playing like he was before McCulloch finished him is a level Brown has not been at, although I'd probably say Brown came his closest to that this year.

I also put Ledley above Brown too and with Big Vic well it's not even a debate really Wanyama is in another universe to Brown.
