    He showed a few glimpses in the first half season when he joined (as did GMS) but played constantly out of position wide left by Ronny, in what he wanted to be a free flowing system but was in practice pretty rigid, really hampered him.

    I'm not getting carried away, I don't think he's AMAZING, but just all around 'good', and I mean that as a complement, it's the same sort of way I look at Brown (who I wasn't convinced by for a long time) he's not our best in any department, raw skill, passing, shooting (armstrong miles better that brown) defensively (brown better) but they're decent enough at all of them as they need to be with a fantastic workrate to cover their deficiencies most of the time.

    And considering his age, if he keeps on as he is, could be an important player for us longterm.

    I remember groaning loudly when he came on in that match. He has made me look a right * ever since. Position alongside Brown is nailed on as his.

    The remainder of this season is an opportunity for him. At this moment in time I am still hoping that we have a better player than him alongside Broony when we go into next season's Champions League campaign. But if he can keep raising his level and playing consistently then I may be forced to change that opinion. He's certainly playing as well as he's ever played for Celtic at the moment.

    At the start of the season I criticized him as I thought he was a player he didnt do anything great, just OK. Passing was eh, finishing was * woeful, defending was eh, attacking play was eh. Now he's a solid do it all midfielder, can't believe his progression under Rodgers. Hopefully he can keep this up, might end up saving us a fee on another midfielder, he's been terrific.
