Celtic have tonight released a statement regarding the use of pyrotechnics during our 4th Round Scottish Cup tie against Stranraer. We fully back the club’s stance on this issue. Safety of our members and other supporters is of paramount importance.
No matter your view on pyrotechnics the only fact worth considering is that they are illegal in Scottish Football grounds and most grounds round Europe. The continued use of them will cause financial and more damage to the reputation of the club.
We already face draconian policing on the way to, during and from games. This will not improve anytime soon if these incidents keep happening. We would fully expect the scrutiny we are placed under to get worse over the remainder of the season.
The club have announced that they will review their ticketing policy in the investigation of this incident. This will affect many fans who have no want or will to take part in the use of pyrotechnics and these fans will also be affected by stricter police measures.

The increase all over Scotland in the use of pyrotechnics shows that current measures in place are insufficient to stop those who wish to use them getting them into the stadium. Punishments that are dished out seem not to deter others.
This problem needs to be addressed by wider, open, honest and progressive talks with all parties involved in the game. While it’s easy to condemn, we need to understand why some fans feel that pyrotechnics are part of the match day experience.
Celtic have been in touch with us and we will be meeting them soon and will take part in the full review that this incident has caused.

How can you debate with someone who uses the Paris attacks as an excuse to have a go at Celtic fans letting off smoke bombs?

Trolling 101, use an emotive subject in a fairly innocuous debate to try and ramp up the tension.

Lukead, you might be taken more seriously on here if you actually bothered "supporting" Celtic as you claimm you do, probably not mind you but it would be a start.

As it is, all you do is come on here telling us how poor Celtic is, how we don't have money for this and that and how absolutely fabulous the super dooper great smashing EPL is.

Now you have taken to having a go at Celtic fans and comparing them to terrorists.

Carry on chief, I'll not be bothering with you anymore.

How do you end up comparing the Paris attacks with a flare at a Celtic game? See if I wasn't goin to ridicule your post before then that comment right there deserves nothing but. Don't see you very often on here but anytime you are it's to complain about Celtic in some way.

Are you actually a Celtic supporter?

Well are you, genuine question? Seem to spend an inordinate amount of time only commenting on the EPL, players we've sent there & our lack of money etc etc. Thought you might be one of these forum voyeur's. Thought you would take a look at a Celtic forum, tell us like it is from the point of view of an EPL/Spurs/moneybags perspective. You know put us in our place.

    @lukead

Sean, you really never fail to disappoint. Do you really think that these people who throw things on to the pitch are the kind of people Celtic want as fans. You accuse me of having a go at Celtic fans. Let me tell you, these idiots are NOT fans, they are morons/hooligans of the first degree and should be banned for life from ever going to any football match, let alone Celtic, as any normal, law abiding Celtic fan will agree. I don't see how anyone on this bb can have any respect for someone who does not see this.
PS there is no need to resort to swearing, if you don't mind.....

And for those who ridicule my post on this matter, then can i remind them of Paris just a few weeks ago, when someone tried to get into the National football stadium and bomb the place full of people. The security should have been tougher on Sunday.[/QUOTE]

No one will take you serious after this drivel

This isn't the thread (or section) to be discussing the EPL or teams who play in it.

There's a world Football section for that chat, so take it there.
