Strachan has to go

We should be hammering teams like Motherwell and Inverness!
I would love to see a comparison in the wages we pay out to our players with that of every other team in the country outside Rangers.
Everyone talks about the 12 game winning run but thats exactly what should be happening week in week out.
Our team is * poor and the buck stops with the manager for me, I can't recall a league game this season when I thought we where great,simply not good enough for players on the kind of money I'm sure our players are on.

 

This is one of the great urban myths. It is possible to hate Gordon Strachan but be a Celtic supporter. I should know! I love Celtic but I really have no time for our manager.

 

Gordon Strachan's team selections have been bazarre. Today was a tipical example. Caldwell stuck in midfield, Flood brought in for OF game dropped with Hartley (according to Strachan one of our better players against the huns) dropped. No two games the same. The team rarely has a settled look about it. This uncertainty is running through the team. Strachan has lived a charmed life up to this point and it looks like it's about to run out. Two seven point leads squandered this season.

The manager is clueless and should have the decency to go now.

 

Its * all to do with hating strachan. . .its about what is happenong on the pitch. . ."Strachan Haters". . .What a lot of pish

i dont hate him at all, as i have said, i like him. . .but when it comes to the good of Celtic, he means * all.

Nothing all season . . .nothing !!

Weir, Papac, Lafferty, Boyd, Miller, Novo, Broadfoot,

these * are sitting top of the league ??

 

i respect strachan for his success with celtic...but he needs to go in the summer...he has ridden his luck enough
* poor display of football this season...kinda happy board didnt spend any money in January...save it for the summer for a new manager to freshen things up.

 

i think you will find it is ..They are lurking for every mistake he makes ..Lets get behind the team at least then we can say we have done our job

Well thats up to them. . .this is the first time I have ever got involved in a Strachan thread, so maybe they have a point.

getting behind the team is all well and good, and i will every week. The supporters are not in question here. . . but you cant just have blind faith. what is happening is unacceptable

 

The supporters were very vocal today, and really got behind the side.

Makes CP feel like an away game.

exactly. the support is not in question far from it, why is it when we complain about the manager we get accused of not supporting the team or strachan haters, this is bullshit. we are celtic and we have won 3 games out of ten in the * spl where most other teams are not far off part time, dont matter who is in charge it is not good enough and the book stops with the manager

 

If i wasnt doing what i was being paid for i would expect my contract to be terminated.

 

Would you agree then that he should NOT be sacked after being above every other manager in his league for the last 3 seasons.

On top of that he's done exactly what was asked of him as far as lowering the wage bill is concerned. I feel sorry for him after trying for players in the summer and in the Jan window only to be told we couldn't afford them.

If I were WGS, I'd have walked out after 3 in a row. He puts up with a lot of crap from his team's own supporters every year no matter what.

 

The fact remains mate. . .he has by far the best squad of players in the country to work with.

His team have won only 3 games in the last 10. . .Ultimately he is in charge of that.

lowering the wage bill doesnt come into it. Celtic players are the highest paid players in the country.

We are sitting second.

 

Joint 2nd and if Rangers are as bad as a lot of the people on talkceltic think then we have very little to worry about.

you mention forwards. . .Boyd Miller Lafferty Novo. . .???

 

I like Miller and Boyd as a pairing tbh. They've got plenty of goals in them and in particular Boyd. Just look at the stats. I was glad to see them lose Cousin earlier in the season also. Novo causes us problems and can be frustrating coming off the bench and changing games for the shame.

All we have really that beats them is McDonald.

 

C'mon mate. . .They are all very poor. . .If our three were at there best would any of them get into our side ??

 

it doesnt matter what the wages are compared to previous managers. our players still get paid fortunes compared to everyone else in scotland bar some of the first team over at the temple of doom, so we should be way above the other ten premier league teams saave for the odd blip, the last three months cannot be described as a blip, a slump careering towrds a crisis! and all at a time when those evil bacteria on a rabid dogs bottom are crippled financially when we could put them to sleep forever and we are gonna hand them this title! we should be going for 9 in a row this year but this must be 4 in a row or we are back to square one. back to having those shitehawks as champions! when all it would have tken is a few first team signings and a manager who recognises the blatant failings in his team

and wages paid compared to performances should count, and if some say on this site that a lot of the contracts involve performance bonuses then there will be some skint celtic players!

many of the teams who have whupped our butts in europe will be on a pittance compared to our guys

for the level of performance being served up, we are being short changed. we have a huge squad so the manager should drop some of these players who are not producing the goods and give others a chance

 

Mate, pains me to say it but on form, in the league we play in over the last year the huns strikers have blown oors oot the water when it comes to goals scored.

So if your picking players for positions on their form then I guess they would deserve a game in our team if they were part of it and on that kinda goal scoring form.......
