Lawwell's a genius. He's the best at his job in the whole world. The deals he's done for us have been outstanding and simply breathtaking.

    * Note, there may be a hint of sarcasm in my post.

There's no firing of anyone neccessary, just the realisation that this is more than a * business we are running. You only get what you pay for, and right now that is * all.

Im with the thread poster, the sooner strachan goes the better. And who gives a * about his record so far, his record this season is nothing but abismal so his job should be under threat as much as anyone else in his position and i honestly think celtic could have achieved the 3x3 and 2x16 everyone keeps harping on about with any half decent manager and the sheer amount of luck strachan has been graced with. Seems like his luck is running out this season.

Inverness sacked their manager and they're not doing too badly since they got a new one. Lawell has done well to reduce our debt, especially in the current climate, I don't think he trusts WGS after all the flop signings he has made.

The ONLY great signing he has bought has been Nakamura. Anyone else was already in the SPL (Hardly hard to spot) or scouted by MON (Boruc). He's useless in the transfer market.

Exactly, people can moan at the board all they want. But would you give Strachan your money after the * he's signed?

I know he's had his duds, but not all of his signings were abysmal. Naka is outstanding. He brought Hinkel, Hartley, Crosas, Robson, JVoH who was good up till this season, he brought back Maloney...

Im with this guy on this thread. Whatever happend to the 4-0 and 5-0 almost every game under MON? Lately we have been scraping last minute goals, drawing away to bottom of the table (Inverness) COME ON!

We are by far the best team in Scotland yet we struggle to win at games. This is * rediculos. WGS has * the squad up and deep down you all know it. Yeah, hes made a few good signings, but he should be getting more and better players.

I know he doest have much cash but some of our great players were cheap. Larsson only cost 650K and he was superb. Boruc was also a good cheap signing, i think he was something like 600K-750K. Why cant we get players like this? He's spending shed loads of money on * players. 2.5 million for Glen Loovens? We can get a much better player than him and cheaper!

As the post above said, where are these bargains? Walter Smith bought Cuellar, and now Bougherra is a brilliant signing. Where are ANY of these from WGS? I don't see them.

Still, all those SPL signings work. And Hinkel is better than average. Bougherra? He's a fud. Cuellar-that was his only relativery decent signing. Last bargain they had was Pršo.

Chelsea has played one game. Honestly I don't see how changing the manager would help Celtic at this point. If you sack Strachan then do it in the off. Other than that, we have some games to concentrate on.

I'd certainly give Milan Misun a chance over that total dud Naylor right now.

They might work, but I'm looking for signings in the mould of Boruc, Larsson, Mjallby and Lubo, surely there are a few out there?? He can't pick out a hidden gem at all. Bougherra has been solid all season in fairness mate, I also think Davis and Mendes have been very good signings for the scum.

Performances have been shocking for the last few months. That point can't be argued with. To go from being 2-0 up against Dundee Utd, and within touching distance of being 10 points ahead of Rangers, to being behind in goal difference in such a short space of time is worrying.

Yes, Strachan should be applauded for delivering 3 titles in a row with less resources than MON. Yes, it is a great achievement to get is into the last 16 of the CL twice.

However, I thinks its clear that the quality of football we have watched under WGS is much less entertaining. It's also clear in my opinion that the majority of singings have not added to what was there before.

My biggest problem with all of this however is that we have a manager that has completely divided the support. I'd guess that MON had the support of 95% of the fans. With WGS it seems to be 50/50. I have never seen so much arguing in the stands between Celtic fans and this division is not good for the club. I can't see that changing until WGS leaves.

Davis is a NI player, and Rangers constantly search players there. Mendes wasn't a hidden gem, they had to spend some money to buy him. Even if we sacked Strachan right now, do you honestly think Levein or Mowbray would do the job? Before punting somebody, you need to think well about his replacement. I would like Felix Magath to be our new manager, but what are the chances of that?
I agree on the bold part though, despite Naylor's improvement over the last few games, we have to search for better.

    Over reaction.

When they went 7 points behind there were calls for Smith's head but now he's a genius on there forums and here as well now by the looks of things.

We are pish just now, no one will deny that. We're not going to sack the manager that has brought us 3 titles in a row however just because we're behind in February by goal difference, that is stupidity.

Still think we'll win the league but I think a change is needed at the end of the season.

    Enoughs enough, we're dire!

I for one don't advocate sacking him but FFS we're rank rotten and hopefully have hit critical mass. I hope most of those players and the manager and backroom staff included take a long hard look at themselves tonight, because right now they're guilty of taking money under false pretences!

Lots of good points have been made in this thread and so far it's a decent debate with no nonsense...hopefully the posters will keep it that way :50:

Year on year we've been getting worse and worse, to me that's down to the manager.

I wan't GS to go, but I don't think sacking him just now will do much good but he should walk or be pushed in the summer.

In the meantime the board should be looking at possible replacements now so as to have the new man in as early as possible into the close season.
