    I fought for that right.............:31:

Dempsey, and others, have claimed that the only reasonable explanation is bigotry. I just don't accept that.

Probably wont get a fairer judgement than that on the signings, as i would have been harsher but it still tells a tale when the majority of them have been flops :celt_2:

You can't really blame Strachan for some of those players not working out, I agree with some being Strachans flops but not all the ones you've said:

Gravesen - everyone thought he'd be great but he had too high an opinion of himself
    Riordan - as above
Sno - didn't work out, but more than covered his costs with transfer fee generated
Zurwaski - did his bit an alright signing not great but not a flop
Doumbe - scored winner in cup final then got serious injury
Hartley and Robson were important in the run in last season, played their part not great but not flops
Du Wei - had to play against Clyde didn't work out decided not to buy him

At the end of the day it's subjective whether you think a certain player was a flop or not - results tells us he has been successful.

His record in the transfer market is highly dubious.

For me, greens are successes and reds are flop, so I think it's far from a majority.

Miller made us a good profit.
Zurawski paid back the 1m or whatever fee in his first year in my opinion.
Killen was never brought in as more than back-up and hasn't had many games.
Samaras is hardly brilliant but to call our top goalscorer a flop is unfair
Dublin scored in the league cup final, and wasn't he a free signing? That's why I wouldn't call him a flop, because he was free.
Du Wei was only every brought in on loan, so he didn't cost us much.
Donati paid his fee 5 times over with the goal against Shakhtar.
Doumbe impressed against Milan, but has been really unlucky with injuries.

Financially, we've had relatively few flops, and many of those who were brought in who weren't Celtic class (irrespective of money) managed to contribute something (Miller's CL goals, Gravesen's OF goals, Jarosik and Donati's Shakhtar goal etc).

For me, a flop is someone like Virgo, a waste of money who didn't contribute anything on the field either.

I think we do need to change this, yeah.

    Still, far from a majority.

I agree that a lot of his signings haven't been the best but it's not as bad as some suggest.

Who would have thought Gravesen and Riordan would turn out as bad - that's more to do with their attitude than Strachan singing poor players.

Tbh though mate we aren't looking at what they got us back in transfer fees but rather what they done on the park. I know some may have got us back some money for them but for the most part they were flops on the field. I actually like/d Zurawski and Doumbe so will give you those two :celt_2:

For example, Donati brought us 15 million pounds and CL recognition with that goal, that's important for me.

    That's just nonsense.

    Donati has been a dud.

And yet without him, we'd be 15 million pounds poorer, and Strachan would have had to wait another year before setting new records for the team in the CL.

    It's not nonsense, it's a fact.

The manager's hands have been tied clearly compared with the last one when it comes to wages and tranfer fees as far as we're lead to know anyway.

Where MoN could go out and buy a 6 millions pound player or 3 with what wages they are after, WGS just couldn't with perhaps the exeption of Graveson's wage.

That failed, so he's trying something a little different and who knows, perhaps a Paddy McCourt or Koki Mizuno may work out to be a great piece of business yet?

IF we didn't have Donati who knows what the result would have been. Your point, and your reasoning, is absurd.

Donati has been a failure, end of.

The guy has been a good manager for us but his media skills are shocking and he is too faithfull to his old brigade players . If we want to move to the next level then its time for a change .

I would be extremly disappointed if that happened but unfortunately it is a real possibility.

Some people say the haven't accepted him because he's arrogant/*/any other name you can think off.

Some people say they don't like him because of his signings an tactics.

Some people don't like him because of when he played for Aberdeen

Some people refuse to say why they don't like him.

So you can take you pick KennyDal, personally although I didn't like him to start with I'm glad he is our manager now.
