What about losing 1-0 to St.Mirren in the bigger cup? 7 days after beating them 7-0.

I think it is a fact that it is the less prestigious cup competition.

Here's a fact - knocked out of the non-diddy cup by a team we pumped 7-0 a week earlier.

How long did we go without keeping a clean sheet away from home ? 13 months ?

At the end of the day, which is more important to Celtic, the league or scottish cup?

Its called cutting to the chase.

Please note that not all the possible answers were dismissed, only the ones which directly affect the job he's employed to do.
Saying that I dont think he always comes across well in his media work, and he often makes me cringe with the things he says, but I'd rather he was a sucessful manager on the field than a charasmatic media darling in front of the camera.
I think its fair to say that a number of supporters dont like him because he's not seen as being "Celtic-Minded".

You're a Celtic fan, and you are undermining our own achievements. Who needs enemies with fans like this eh?

Playing Rangers in any type of match is a huge event, especially when there's a cup on the line. Both teams played their strongest sides.

I don't know why a lot of the fans can't take to WGS. I just don't get it.

I remember a lot of them on this board siding with him when we won the league last year. I thought just about everyone would be behind both him and the team this season.

Less prestigious?...yes. Diddy Cup.....it's all about opinions. I would never dismiss beating Der Hun in a Cup Final so easily.

Yes we were knocked out of the Cup by St.Mirren, but every manager suffers shocks in the Cups especially if you stay at one club for such a long time by modern standards. I don't expect us to win the Cup every season, I hope to win the league....which we have done. :50:

I would also say that its a fact that we aren't as good at home anymore, what was it under MON we were going for the all time record (held by Real Madrid) for not losing at home and where is that went to now ? we seem to struggle most of the time

It smacks of looking at the broad picture.

Of course it does, but it doesn't mean we are as good as many seem to think - if the teams below us are *.

BTW Jansen played against us in the European Cup Final.

I'm a realist. And don't start your 'lesser supporter' pish.

Which cup is less prestigious ?

We lost that record under MON, he lost 4 home games in the league in his final season, something which hasn't happened under WGS.

Oooft thats the Celtic Minded arguement blown right out of the water then, wonder what they will come up with next. He doesnt eat his lunch in the Celtic canteen so the fans hate him.

    No it doesn't.

Plenty of other managers could have guided Celtic to 3IAR too, that's what some of the Strachan lovers forget.

You cannot excuse the majority of his signings for a start.

He can't see things happening either. He reacts to situations too often, instead of sensing the danger and stopping it from happening. Dundee United earlier in the season is the perfect example of it, 1-1 game.

Everybody knew Sandaza was going to score, could see it coming. Not Strachan. Then when he did score, he brings on Samaras with 2 minutes left, and takes off another striker!?!?! What the * is that going to achieve?

I hate his tactics too. Zonal marking. He's too stubborn for his own good. Why won't he change that? Because the media are criticising him for it, so he's decided to keep it and prove them wrong. It's * killing us. I can't look at the tele when the opposition gets a set-piece in crossing distance.

The majority of away games, why does he insist on putting our best central defender into midfield and splitting up what has been, by far, our best midfield partnership.

These are the reasons I dislike him. I don't care if he stays though, as you cannot argue with his success. He wins trophies for Celtic, and ultimately, that's all I care about.

Jansen did, in the 2nd biggest game in our history. Venglos, not to my knowledge.

    Not to my knowledge.

But we have established that not being 'Celtic minded' does not make fans bigotted against you e.g. Jansen, Venglos.

I wasn't trying to start anything like that, I just think it's an incredibly negative reaction to our first cup final win over our biggest rivals in 20 years. All the huns have been calling it "the diddy cup" since we beat them, but I've never heard a Celtic fan try to undermine that achievement.

The CIS Insurance Cup, but we could be playing Rangers for a bacon sandwich and it would still be a huge game.

aye i was still stating we had that record on the go under MON though. Surely you can admit we aren't as good anymore at home. Teams used to come and fear getting demolished, now they come looking for a result knowing they have a * good chance of picking up at least a draw.

You fail to acknowledge his achievements and then accuse me of not seeing the broad picture :56::56:

Maybe you need to accept the decline of the SPL by European Standards first and the fact that Celtic are high susceptible to this decline and have restructured the club accordingly during the entire course of the current managers regime

One off game, Strachan played in the same league.

Please state for everyone to know what you really think of Strachan, be a man about it :50:

I disagree here. Crosas, Maloney, on-form JVOH. All would have strengthened our team.

Rangers didn't start Kris Boyd either, or Bougherra.
