imo you got to admire the fact that he doesnt change the way he is just to get us all onside, which makes him a strong character, like some others i wasnt happy at his appointment but have come to like him,and the succsess he has given, last years title being one of the most enjoyable yet .

also like most i find the football we are playing atm frusrating to watch, and maybe he does over analize things like tactics but surely we can all look beyond this and be happy .

I should clear up that I do support Strachan now. When he was first appointed, my (slightly immature) reaction was that I didn't think he was the right man for the job. I think I based that on the fact that I knew he used to be Coventry manager and that he was relegated with them. I was won round by him in a couple of months.

I completely agree with your 3rd paragraph. There are some fans who will always complain. Even when Martin was manager, there was a guy that sat behind me in the Jock Stein stand that would complain for the entire match.

Just yesterday I read that Moyes doesn't want manage Celtic. Strange.

Aye that's right Minty, he said he wouldn't leave Everton for either us or the huns. But if the chance did actually come up, then you never know.

POinting out that we have been * this season or that we have one away victory in 2009 isn't spouting * mate. These are genuine concerns which the manager must take flack for.

Sorry but I completely disagree with that statement. At present Celtic are not a step up from Everton, despite the fact we are almost guaranteed CL football each season. Moyes is one of the best young managers in the UK at present and his star is on the rise. He's also endowed with a healthy transfer budget which allows him to sign some very good players.

I don't think Moyes would at this point in his career be interested in coming to Celtic and certainly not the huns. His transfer budget with celtic would be around a third of what he's getting to play with at Everton and coupled with our wage structure, I don't think we'd interest Moyes.

I don't rate Mowbray alongside Strachan, simple as that.

Strachan hardly got a chance at a "huge" club and he certainly can't be classed as a failure in the premiership. Coventry are a mediocre club and Southamton can hardly be classed as huge yet he done relatively well at both clubs and in fact helped Southampton to 8th place in the EPL and made an FA Cup Final also. I'd say that was pretty good all things considered.

Didn't know that Minty so can't comment mate, but it's no bad thing taking a provincial club like Southampton to an FA cup final and only losing by one goal to Arsenal. :50:

Moyes is 6 months into a 5 year contract on, reportedly £3m a year.

How could you justify paying (assuming you want him in for next season) £12M for the compensation of a manager's contract? I couldnt and wouldnt, no manager is guaranteed success at a given job based on his CV

Thats fair enough, away form has been *, point taken. So if it improves you'll start to warm to him? The players have to look at themselves & take majority of the flack.

the FACT is, most fans who go, or previously went to CP, are bored shitless.

"He's not here to entertain, he's here to win trophy's"

Tell that to the fans who are breaking point with his brand of COSMIC football.

4 years, a million average midfeilders, and some are still saying he'll turn the corner class, entertainment or whatever you want to call it wise.

In the ginger genuis's own words "3 years is enough time at a club"

Thanks for 3/4 titles and a young team Gordon, the time is right to hand over control to a man with fresh ideas.

This man should be identified and targeted by the board using a sound recruitment procedure, not by fans poll's or at the whim of Mr. Desmond.

Some good arguments coming in from either side of the fence in this epic debate!

At the end of the day, does it really matter if the man's "Celtic minded" or not? It's not a popularity competion, it's a football competion where I think all that ulitmately matters is the results.

I worry that if we don't make 4IAR now, all we'll hear is "Strachan get to *, you cost us another league title". This of course, regardless off the fact he's already brought us three and not yet lost us one. If we don't make it this season i'll be placing my blame on the players, not WGS.
