my "*" comment was a correction to someone misquoting what i had said in a earlier thread
i wrote * 3 times to get my point accross, the point was, arrogant strachan making a speech at tommy burns charity day and telling us he made mistakes..we knew he made mistakes for 2/3 years previously

he waited until we were no longer champions and no longer the manager to realise this
now we have to get through 2 tough qualifiers to get to WHERE WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN

FOR THAT HE IS THE BIGGEST * EVER,

Ach well, he may have come accross as a * to some folks, but do you know what?

I don't think it's befitting of our great support to continually lambast the man, even after he has gone.

Some folks may remember when he played for Aberdeen, and continually wound up our support to such an extent that it drove one of us to run on the pitch and attack him. Some might simply not have liked his ginger hair. Others may have objected to his post match media appearances and comments; some tactical geniuses within our support, on the other hand, may have objected to his substitutions, or indeed signings.

I, for one, am glad he has gone, as I could not have stomached watching another season of Gordon Strachan's Celtic.

However, his 'statistics' cannot be denied, and history will look more fondly on Gordon Strachan. Strachan did a good job for our club, albeit that the football was often *.

    But he has gone.

    It's a new era.

I repeat again, it does not do us proud to slag the man, especially going as far as to call him a "*".

That's outrageous, as anyone who saw him address the crowd in the Tommy Burns match will attest.

    Hail Hail :50:

Tim Park, I find your commentary very funny, but I'm not going to hold myself back here.

    What you've said is a * disgrace.

GS came out in front of the support, he admitted his mistakes, he also stated he was a Celtic supporter- for life, and that he knew what it meant.

He was also one of TB's closest pals in the game, shame on you for that comment.

Just while you're banging on success - Can you not realise that our success only came because Rangers were *.

We literally have only one proper competitor in our league, and if they are absolute * (like they were for 3 years during Strachan's time) success in the league is guaranteed.

Stop banging on about a * team, managed by a guy who had millions more to spend than his counterparts, as though they were good. they weren't - they were average to poor, and everyone else was poor.

Also we were lucky for two years in the Champions League. If you can't admit that our performances at home got worse during Strachan's tenure then you are seeing through ginger-tinted specticals.

Our away performances have always been an embarrasment - hopefully they might start to improve

Somethings not adding up here - this so called worst Rangers team ever reached the first European final since 1972. They were not. that. bad.

Boring - * yes. Anti football - * yes. But easy to beat? Only in your mind.

if he was now a celtic supporter for life why did he not listen to people then
admitting mistakes/wrong decisions after the fact when he was in a perfect position to do something about it

he has had many opportunities to admit his failings why wait until the TB day.

he wasn't exactly forth coming in the previous 4 seasons at talking ,he was more in to mind games with the press than football games with the fans

so to stand up in front of the world when he was no longer manager and we are no longer champions and say,,hey peeps i now love Celtic and i * us up...does not wash with me,

so again for that he is a * in my opinion

I agree,it was too little to late.
The fans would have more respect for him if he showed any towards us over his 4 years.

i think your spot on mate but i think know he is gone a section of the support will find the manner in which we lost league disgraceful the fact we dropped so many points in the second half of the league.

But i have to say although i thought he was arogant & tactically nieve as was unwilling to change things that were clearly not working such as zonal marking, the guy was genrally a succesful manager who done more good than bad bringing down the wage budget & the age of the team aswell as finally finding a goalkeeper which we lacked for years

Tim_park I respect your opinion most of the time and from what I read of this forum you seem quite a nice guy but this post is some of the most dreadful and hurtful <strike>garbage</strike> bullshit I think I've ever read in 4 years plus of reading this site.

That is an entirely fair appraisal of the situation.

I do not deny that Gordon Strachan's trophy haul will see him regarded by history as one of our most successful managers ever. I just wish some of the pro-Strachan Celtic fans out there would hold their hand up and admit the football was *. Keeping on with telling us we were watching good football when we plainly were not was after all one of the things that * us off about Strachan himself.

Maybe if the guys like me just admit his trophy haul was good and the pro-Strachan fans just admit the football was * we could bring this whole debate to an end.

Can't seem to see it happening any time soon mind you........

i can only wonder why people think that the opinions of people who didn't like strachan at the time are likely to have changed now he's gone.

some people need to accept that others are going to have differing opinions to theirs.

Peoples opinions are irrelevant. History will record Gordon Strachan as one of the greatest Celtic managers ever in the job. Thats all that matters. :shamrock:
