Madness. I like Stokes but even I wouldn't say that.

You remind me a lot of Padmill.:52:

Agreed. Thought he had a good game yesterday. As for his technical abilities. Far from being limited I would say he is actually good technically and would consider that to be one of the strengths in his game.

Like Sutton As a player but now as he does pundits he comes across as a cocky so and so, but to be fair he calls a spade a spade..

Would love to see a normal 4-4-2 played by the hoops. Perhaps diamond midfield.

Think we will get any new players in even on loan ? 2-0 needs to be minimum next week against carrier bag ! Mon the hoops

Hopefully Boyata will have learned his lesson about not switching off, but otherwise a decent enough performance on a terrible pitch.

Bit late but here's last nights Post match comments from Ronny after the game

RD: It’s difficult to say what the performance was but when you play on artificial pitch that’s dry it’s sticky and everything goes slow

RD: We were sloppy and a bit stressed but we got the goal and more tempo. In the second half there was only one team on the pitch.

RD: "There’s no problem to play artificial but when you don’t water a pitch it’s totally different.

RD: We always ask for a pitch to be watered but they said it was broken.

RD on poor start: We didn’t want to concede and early goal but it happens sometimes in football and you need to bounce back

RD: 4-1 is a positive result and I’m looking forward to the next match

RD on Qarabağ FK: We need to improve. Qarabag are a good team and I watched their last game against Rudar. It’s a big step up

Watched the game with a few friends and family last night. It was interesting to see the different reactions, more to do with a few having a bets on the game.

A few were getting a fair bit agitated after Stjarnan went ahead. The goal was * poor from our point of view. A fair few powder puff attempts to deal with situation, which should have been dealt with easily. However aside from that, I felt it was almost similar to the 1st leg. We started the game trying to play through them, which is still difficult even against lesser opposition. It wasn't until we eventually got the ball wide and got the full-backs in behind did we start to get success. Even at that we struggled with either the final ball or finding a finish to our play. I was pleased to see the players remain composed and stick with the patient approach, indeed there wasn no reason to panic.

Caused problems in the 1st leg from set pieces and capitalised on it again for the equaliser. Mulgrew added a good 2nd goal and all but killed them off. While Stjarnan did come forward more in this game, we weren't overly troubled. Couple of wee half chances which we managed to influence or intercept.

Issues from the game, we appeared to be pedestrian in using the ball at times. Missed a fair few good goal scoring opportunities, despite scoring 4.

Thought Mackay-Steven played well. Should have got himself a goal in the 2nd half, hit his effort straight into the goalkeepers body. Deserves credit for his selflessness on the Griffiths goal. The "Bethlehem Busquets" for getting us back into the game with goal and showing composure on the ball. Unlucky with a volley just after his goal.

We can perform a lot better than we've shown over these last 2 games and will have to in the next round. Ronny has a few decisions to make with his team selection, Ciftci or Griffiths in particular. I would go with the latter. Ciftci has shown in flashes his qualities and also flashes of areas which he needs to improve on. Some of which will be addressed when he gets more game time. Griffiths has a greater understanding with the team and gives us a threat going in behind. He's also finding the goals as well, which is a bonus.

A big 1st leg display could make a difficult journey, a * of a lot easier.

Belated comments on the game but

Mulgrew, GMS and Johansen were great.

    Brown was good

We had one brown knickers moment and it caused us a goal - Bitton turned too easy and Boyata being lazy tracking back - I'd expect this will be ironed out vs better opposition.

Cifci tried hard but nothing was going for him - he seems more of a creator than a goalscorer.

    Griffiths should have started.

I would like to see a team with Cifci and Griffiths in it but the eternal question is who do you drop?

    Armstrong?

Thought he did OK but not enough to warrant a dropping from the first 11

I wanted Griffiths to start as well but I can understand why Ronny started Ciftci, he'll miss our first 6 league games so getting him competitive football with the team is vital so he can hit the ground running when his ban is up.

I briefly shat myself when they scored however the game was comfy, as expected. Job done pretty convincingly over the two legs with some rustiness here and there.

Need to sort the defensive slackness though, better sides will punish us. As the old cliché goes.

I thought Mulgrew was the business, this isn't too detract from his performance; I thought he was great. But he is too one-footed. That's a real crutch in the modern game, you need an extra touch, that extra second. At the top level you're toast. Plus, his skill level isn't the best. He's not Hadji or Cooper, you know.

Just because he prefers using his left more than anything doesn't mean his rights just for standing on, technically speaking, he's one of the best in our swuad. Passing range, first touch etc. is right up there.

Not many players were a Hadji, closest we've had is Lubo and even he wasn't on his level.
