No Petrov Transfer Request Newsroom Staff


Further to press speculation today, a Celtic spokesperson commented: "We have received no official transfer request from Stilian Petrov, who has recently signed a new long-term contract with the Club, but clearly, any such request would be rejected."

Just a spat with Strachan that has been blowen out of poportion and if it isnt hes tied into a 3 year contract which means we will get good money for him!

 

That's better news. He probably had a little row with Strach but not that big a row that the newspapers are sugesting

 

C'mon lads u cana believ anythin til u know its true! The press hav noticed Petrov lookin a bit lacklustre durin the title celebrations and made a believable story out of it!! Rite now its just pish!!I wudny worry bout it.

 

Seen it in the Daily Ranger, so im taking no notice of it. I'd imagine that - like most of their stories - it's aload of *! Didn't see any quotes from Petrov in the story either, so it's just the usual pre Old Firm match stir up. Hopefully this will stir Petrov on to playing a great game.

 

Don't know if it's true or not and everything I can say now is: "STAN PLEASE DON'T GO!"

I would imagine there was been a spat, but these are more common at a football club than you would expect. As for Petrov leaving I've heard it all before, wasn't he definately going to Fulham last january transfer window? The media are trying to detract attention from the Champions and Rangers demise. Celtic have officially said no transfer request has been handed in and that is good enough for me. Some of the posts in this read are laughable like "were f*cked" etc. We are a football club bigger than any player or ego, however some posters seem to think differently.

 

Naka is better than petrov and dont even try and argue that he isnt...

 

At dead ball situations and flowing attacking play, yes. But all other things.. no.

 

Exactly, we seem to forget that Larsson left years ago and we were all saying we couldn't cope without him. Players come and go, but clubs go on without them.

petrov is a great player i would be very sad if he left and i agree make him the captain and give him a free role in the midfield

 

hes had an arguement with gs, not uncommon. As usual the daily rag blows it out of all proportion because they need some * to stir about us before EVERY old firm. its pathetic really, and i believe we will see stan for many years yet. The people who write this bollocks just cant face building up to a match where we are 23 points ahead of them.
lets not make sunday about our 'issues', lets make it about givin them a good slaggin for everythin goin against them, 23 pts, 3rd place (no champ league), uefa rap, eck leavin, barry crippled. forget this issue for now, until theres anythin official.

 

Sure hope he stays, Petrov from the start and to this point in time in my master of opinion is a verygood player, he was never a great player, nor world class, but certainly good enough for CL games!

 

On the BBC website it says Celtic said they haven't recieved anything yet they continue to discuss the possibility he's going. I don't understand that at all.

I must admit since signing the new deal Petrov hasn't been as good or looked as happy as he did.

I would suggest he has had no more than 4 games in the last 5months where he dominated the midfield. Best player, not on this prolonged form.

 

Again more Kyndig *. When will ye ever learn that just because yer obsessed with naka doesn't mean he's the best player we have. Stan is a more vital player than Naka cos he's a better playemaker. Naka's class but Stan's better and ye just can't accept it. Dunno why, maby because ye don't support Celtic ye only support Naka
