like he says, plenty of players that take care of themselves can play at that age no bother, I would happily give him a trial and if he seems up for it, make him vice captain, having a player that was around from the oneil era would sort that dressing room out, hopefully put a few * in their place :bbpd:

 

Bring him back as a player/coach and if Brown plays site next season we have someone with passion and experience to replace him

Good for Stan, it would be easy for him to take the easy option and get a number in the punditry circuit. Defo should get him back for a few friendlies in the close season , having him in training even would be invaluable for the younger players

Regardless of whether or not he comes back to play football, it's great to see him fighting fit again.

 

Amazing seeing him come through all this so brilliantly.

Had a friend who died from leukemia a good few years ago now, bad thing to get.

To then see stilian get diagnosed with it I really feared the worse.
To see him playing * football after it all was amazing, to now see him in such good shape and pushing on even more is nothing short of outstanding to be honest.

Truely happy for the man. A legend amongst living men.

Aston Villa confirm Stan Petrov will join up with them for Pre Season and will also be at their training camp in Austria.

What a story, what a man!! Brilliant news.

Stiliyan Petrov 's incredible return to football continued as the veteran played in Aston Villa's pre-season friendly against Gak 1902.

Manager Roberto Di Matteo included Petrov in the team to play in the second half of the warm-up match, in which the Championship side claimed a dominant 8-0 victory.

Petrov has defied the odds to make a miraculous recovery from leukaemia after being diagnosed with the illness in 2012.

His last appearance came in a 3-0 defeat to Arsenal in March of that year.

Villa confirmed the 36-year-old would train with the side prior to the new season four years after his diagnosis with the condition - and he donned the captain's armband for his return.
