He is quality in the air. Would be the perfect foil for Sviatchenko, IMO.

Wouldn't mind this, he'd offer us something different up front next to Griff and Dembele.

I know. :86: But Klopp kept playing him as a target man in the final minutes of games, when Liverpool were chasing a result. I think he played more up front than at the back during his loan at Liverpool.

Bout the only time he got on as a Liverpool player was as an auxiliary striker

I would rather try and get him permanently rather than a loan, anyone know roughly how much he would cost?

Qpr paid 8 million for him 2 seasons ago so they would want a good portion of that back given he is there starting centre back.

The article I read also said the crystal palace offered him 42k a week but he was getting more at Qpr so turned it down!

Usually seems composed: great in the air and in the tackle. But I don't think his reading of the game is good enough for Europe, as with Duffy. We do need to improve in the physical areas of defending, but I'd rather whoever we bring in has great positional abilities too. Otherwise, we might be in trouble if we reach CL groups.

...that being said, I'd have him here, but he'd need to improve positionally, and would initially put pressure on Biton to cover even more than he does currently.

Anything we do at that stage is bonus, as long as they are good enough to get us there that's all that matters.

Aye, if. Not suggesting for a moment that he's not CL qualifying quality, but do we have the right balance elsewhere in the defence to make up for his poor positioning? Erik's good positionally, but I wouldn't want to put him and/or the defensive mids under pressure.

He's a good player. I'd be happy if he came here.

Some of you talking about his possible wages... Just saw this there so thought I'd post it
Celtic are being linked with 24-year-old defender Steven Caulker, who was loaned out by Queens Park Rangers to Liverpool and Southampton last season because of his £30,000 per week wages. (Daily Record)

We can afford those wages just get a few more players off the bill, only thing is how much he would cost to buy, don't want loans we need to be building a team for next 2 or 3 years.

Qpr meant to be struggling a bit financially now is say between 3-5m.... Wouldn't be too bad to get him at say 5m considering simunovic cost us 4.6 wasn't it
