    Terrible all day..

So poor in the air defensively for a centre half. That Clark had the run of him plenty and he's a midget..

He didn't make contact but he did go in at some force when he got booked..

Yet another goal we have conceded because of him.. Half the goals we have conceded since ange has been here is because of welsh lol. He cant defend set pieces or balls in the air in any capacity. Good game mid-week * woeful is being kind today.

I think Ange made the right choice picking him over Jenz for this game, as Jenz was terrible against Leipzig, but Jenz is a better player with more upside. Welsh just isn't good enough.

There was a moment in the second half where two of our players already went to challenge one of their players on the wing. He decided that it would be a good idea to follow them, creating a huge space in our box and leading to a huge chance for them.

He does a lot right, but he switches off a lot and makes rash, poorly considered decisions. Giving the ref an opportunity to book him by diving in wildly like he did in the first half is an example.

And Welsh looked to be carrying an ankle injury. Worrying, especially if Jenz injured.

Jenz was out with an illness otherwise I’m pretty sure he’d have played. He’s clearly ahead of Welsh in the pecking order.

There's a reason everyone says white men can't jump. We litterly can't. Scientists even say its because the tendons are thinner with less fast twitch fibres to aid in jumping. Thats my excuse for being 6ft 7 and struggling to dunk a basketball where my we short pal can dunk with ease :56: could also be because I'm heavy with pure muscle..... :fear:

So Welsh obviously has no fast twitch fibers and also terrible timing for his jumps. So it's genetically only 50% his fault?

He was awful at the goal. Literally just stands there as his man ghosts into the danger area.

I don’t agree with this. Whether he touched the man or not isn’t all that relevant. He flew in at 100 mile an hour so recklessly I winced. I’d have been shouting for a red if it was the other way around.

Above Jenz in the pecking order for me, especially beside CCV.

    Starts on Tuesday.

As long as he's starting we are conceding.

That's the simple fact of the matter. Hes gets out jumped, out muscled, out ran and out thought by spfl midgets.

Call it harsh if you like, but that's the reality.

Yea his booking was rash, but this is Scotland, and if a CB in a Celtic shirt charges down an opposition player in a nothing area of the pitch like that a card is coming out. I'd venture it'd probably come out in most leagues in Europe.

His distribution is "ok", but his dithering on the ball, and looking to pass back is also killing our impitous.

I've already said he's not good enough, and I don't see him ever being so. But if we've any hope of getting back to level of performance we were showing before, then we need another CB in to cover CCV/ Starfelt / Jenz.

    He's not good enough.

We were so so solid with CCV and Starfelt, and Starfelt is supposedly a brainfart away from disaster every 2 games or so.

Welsh has been far more reliable than Jenz this season…

Which isn’t saying much tbh but alas.

Agreed, for all those saying he's "not good enough" like it's a mantra he was very solid against Leipzig and needed to be because Jenz was miles aff it.

He's going to be one of these players who gets crucified for one mistake in a game where he was otherwise very good. Like some are willing him to fail.
