Really struggle to take to him but he's fine for fourth choice and Scottish. Feel he is reluctant to play a forward and risky pass - zero stats to back that up, though, so maybe all in my head.

    He was excellent yesterday tbf.

Think he does that fairly often, one of the things that I feel he has that others don't. He can pick a pass through midfield into our more forward players.

Tbh think hew great. If we played him every game with CCV to develop him he'd end up a very good top notch CB imo. Lack of game time has held him back.

Never lets us down, if he could bulk up, could be an option if we were to go 3 at the back, he is decent on the ball.

He’s okay but should never be more than probably 4th choice.

Still think he’s rash into tackles sometimes, gives away silly fouls and his passing leaves a lot to be desired. Plus he’s slow.

Decent enough player but no more.

Should be kept around as a squad player. How bad must Nawrocki and Lagerbiekle be though? When you consider the amount of money we've spent on signing CB's that are *, you may as well just keep hold of Welsh and give him 15+ games a season across all comps.

I have no confidence, getting a result at the huns with this pairing, if CCV is not there. Lost his man a couple of times, and has no understanding with Johnston.

Gustaf should get another chance, as at least we got a clean sheet there with him.

Welsh needs punted we need to build from the back come summer and some decent talent on the bench as back up

We have tried and tested this bhoy and is just not good enough.

Honestly woeful. People cling to this thing that an Italian team wanted him at one point as though it makes his awful performances fine. He is awful, absolutely awful.

He gets worse with each game, Gustaf looked a far better defender than anything Welsh has shown.

No idea what he was doing for there first goal. Johnston went wide but Welsh just seemed to be totally out of position and day dreaming and the boy had a clean run in on goal.

His passing was ropey as well.

It’s what happens when you have 12 different defensive partnerships in a season, never having 3/4 games in a row the same, and the guy holding it all together most of the year having a wee wobble in Scales.

But really, Livi’s 2 goals were * great finishes

The first one I kept waiting for a flag going up or something because I couldn’t believe the space their boy had on his own to wonder into our box and get a shot off good finish or not.

The second was O’Riley getting caught on the ball that created the real issue rather than the centre backs. Again a good finish but a situation would should never have got ourselves in.

The ominous thing for me is we don’t play CCV next week against St Johnstone. He won’t play away to Livi so his next game in A little under a month could be the biggest game of the season. Or it’s worse than that and he’s out again longer term.

I do agree all the chopping and changing doesn’t help at centre back as it’s one of those positions that understanding is vital and that includes with the keeper and full backs too. However, the situation that led to the first goal was shambolic. A simple chip ball forward and a guy is clean through on Hart unchallenged.

There’s no actual natural partnerships at the back and that’s understandable, AJ after a couple games next to CCV played the same way as he would with CCV there beside him, which is keeping himself wide, covering the winger, knowing he has zero need to tuck in and cover. Because CCV is a different animal.

Earlier this year when he played with Nawrocki, he was closing that space leaving the wing open so he could then pressure over there, and making sure he can cover runs in behind defence.

And AJ was nowhere near at fault btw, it’s just wee things you can see that isn’t gelled because how often it chops and changes
