    He’s the only other defender outwith CCV who organises and leads the others from the back.

    Without seeing Nawrocki yet who I hope is a level above anybody challenging CCV, Welsh is clearly comfortably 3rd best CB at the club.

    Solid performance there, pretty much the perfect backup centre half for us. Gets far too much undue criticism although nice to see all positive feedback for a change.

    I always rated him as a solid option tbh, he was never as good as Starfelt and CCV but he wasn't a massive downgrade either.

    He's not as quick as them especially Starfelt but he did bring the ball out better than them in a passing way, he is also decent in the air despite his height and he is probably a bigger threat from an attacking set piece than them as he's one of them who fearlessly attack a set piece, CCV and Starfelt are good in the air but not got the aggression and desire to head a ball Welsh has to score a goal.

    Grew into the game. Despite being known as not imposing physically, Aberdeen couldn't really exploit him all that much.

    He should go elsewhere and play as he’s far too good not to be playing football every week.

    Not sure we can afford to lose him though with such limited home grown players.
