    Wee * the * has no allegiance to Rangers in their previous or current guise. He also managed Zenit in the 2008 UEFA Cup Final...

    Only people we have to blame for not bringing in any striker, never mind Fletcher, is ourselves. We can't seriously be annoyed that we got turned down by a Club when we pick up the phone 50 minutes before the window shuts when there's had been shut for hours previous.

    I don't think he is as good as many make out either.

    I was more excited at the prospect of signing Kramaric(who btw, we also apparently failed in a 'last minute bid' to get).

    He has been proven to score goals in Europe in a team which relied on him(which we would) and I think has more scope to improve and become the 'CL striker' we crave.

    Knowing Sunderland they probably have him on about 50k a week no way we could compete with that, I don't even rate him either he was once a very good player but he rarely scores anymore and when I see him he just looks so average id have wee thumb over him any day.

    I didn't want him prior to that game and it didn't really change my opinion much.

    Decent enough lone striker but not a goalscorer.

    Seeing that he's out of contract at the end of this season and there hasnt seemed to be any rumblings about a new contract, would it not be worth it to grab him cheap or on a pre-contract? Think he could rejuvenate his career with us and give us alot of experience up front.
