He has already agreed the deal so why did he agree if he thought he was worth more? The guy sounds like a * time waster I think we should walk away from the deal.

Again his alleged unhappiness was reported in a Spanish Newspaper and then he agreed terms. If he was that unhappy he wouldn't have agreed to the terms that were on the table. Still reckon the deal will go through and we will have a player that will score a load of goals in the SPL and Europa Cup. He will have better players creating chances for him at Celtic and he looks a pretty good finisher.

what will happen if we wait for this guy, and it falls through for any reason at all, and we dont have anyone else lined up, window closes, and we go with what we have got, i think i will cry.

 

Don't disagree with your comments, apart from fact that there are 2 local papers in Gijon area, El Comercio and La Nueva Espana and over past few days they've both been giving same line.

The start of all of this is that Sporting Gijon HAVE to sell him because of the wage cap. Initially they wanted a bigger fee but as I've indicated, when you have to sell, you're not in control, so it would be in their interest if a bigger fee was offered. Hope the boy comes, because he is a goalscorer.....only concern I have is that, as with anyone, if, for whatever reason, your not entirely happy with your work environment, you don't give your best. Hope I'm wrong.

every one on here saying cancel the contract needs to seriously think about this and realise that not every player supports celtic and that football nowadays is all about money!

look back 2 days at how much everybody wanted this guy because of his ability his ability has not changed because he wants the most amount of money he could get

 

I think we are holding off unveiling him to Monday because if we done it in the past few days fans will:

A/ question could we not have pushed this through before the play off round. Just after are reprieve against legia.

B/ fans will be expecting another transfer to go through on deadline day, and the board cant afford any more negativity.


Its becoming more apparent that we continue to sit on our hands to the last second hoping from scraps of the epl table. Like the robbie keane deal on deadline day when he was surplus to requirements at spurs. And i think this guy is a back up incase we dont secure anyone on deadline day we have atleast someone to get the fans excited.

This policy of our transfer policy depending on scraps from the big boys need to stop. Its hurting us

Scepovic isn't a back up plan.

If you're judging him by the price tag, then don't. He is a 4m Euro player - around £3.2m, which when you look at our recent 'big buys' is up there. The only reason the fee is £1m less - £2.2 - is because we are buying from a Team that have to cut their wage bill because of limits imposed by the League. If they don't cut their wage bill, then they can't bring in any fresh faces. We have struck a deal that screws Gijon on the fee and on the sell-on %.
