Other clubs have more money than us and don't have to haggle and work as hard as we do to get players to come to the splsplf.

Nor do most 'continental style' managers. 1 striker's the way to go, imo.

Stokes does an excellent job at inside-left, and should play there under Deila, imo. He'd make a big impact coming inside and supplying the others, like he did numerous times under Neil Lennon (most notably in the 2013 Scottish Cup final, and in the Karagandy home leg).

Stokes needs a Hooper type striker to play with to get the best out of him. If the manager plays him and Scepovic together maybe that will work better. Balde and Pukki are definitely not poachers.

Maybe it is too late tonight for his work permit to be granted?

What happened in the end? Our media say that Šćepović signed for Celtic today.

It will mostly depend how he'll fit in. Not much of Serbian (or any former Yugoslav) played in SPL, and there must be a reason for it. Stefan was once marked as a great talent, but then he hadn't played at all for a few years. He recovered in Partizan Belgrade, and then simply exploded in Sporting. So, it's a lottery, but I really hope he'll bang lots of goals wearing the hoops.

Follow Serbia-France friendly next weekend, he might play, though Anderlecht's Mitrović has advantage.

Just read a bit in local Gijon newspaper, El Comercio. Stefan travelled to Paris on Thursday night and according to them, paperwork was completed yesterday. It is expected that the official announcement will be made today.

Interesting point in the other local newspaper, La Nueva Espana. I knew that Sporting Gijon last season made a big push to get promoted to La Liga, after 2 seasons in La Secunda. What I hadn't realised was that there is an overall wage cap in La Secunda and Gijon had to sell players in order to get their wage bill down. I couldn't understand why a few weeks ago, Gijon were wanting 4m Euros and from all the reports we've signed him for 2.5m Euros. This is like when we signed Big Vic from Beerschot who were in financial difficulties.

Really believe we're getting a quality player at way below his true market value. Looking forward to seeing the Bhoy in action in the hoops.
