As has been said by our New Mexico correspondent, reports are that we're trying to send Tonev back to Villa and can see VVD on his way before Monday, so you may want to rethink your line up unless you plan on playing with 9.....After Tuesday, don't think many would notice.

This is an embarrassment! People saying "I can't believe he wants to sign for us!" No offence but the guy is coming from the SEGUNDA division in Spain!! He's a complete unknown other than a few youtube videos!

nobody is really in a position to make a correct judgement on him!! I hope if we do sign him he's an unbelievable smash hit I want that as much as the next man! But he could just as easily be Harald Brattbakk the second or yet another heralded signing such as Boerigter was coming from Ajax or Gravesen from Madrid!

This is Celtic! Make no mistake we ARE a huge club unfortunately our current structure for one reason or another is stunting our ability to compete! Why the board are restricting the wage limit is a matter for conjecture but that is the real issue as far as I'm concerned!! You offer a player the right contract they sign it! PERIOD!! Now Scepovic could be the messianic figure we need up top but to be honest we should be shopping in a higher bracket than where we are currently, sweating over the signing if a Soorting Gijon player is ridiculous!

That's a shame, would have liked to seen the lad play. In that case mcgregor move forward and commons in midfield. Van dijk needs replaced. Mulgrew and shambrose are not up to it

you kind of just contradicted yourself there with these two comments. buying players from a higher bracket isnt going to guarantee they will be a hit.

i think more people are sweating on this because of the type of player he seems to be - seemingly has two good feet on him, is a calm finisher, able to play a lone striker role

there are plenty of good quality players in segunda and even premiership teams are looking there for players. diego costa played a fair amount of games in that division too and he seems ok

should we have been shopping at a higher bracket instead of beerschot, groningen, motagua, derby, rosenborg or scunthorpe?

Don't worry Bhoys, Emile Heskey is available on a free if this move goes sour.

    What's happening then?

Seen on Twitter that he's still coming and we've apparently agreed a four year contract, not sure how reliable the source is though.

where are you plucking this stat from? out of all the goals i have seen him score which from the youtube videos i have seen all his goals from the past 3 years i have seen 3 goals with his left so yes he can score with his left but in no way shape or form does he have two good feet

go to you tube. search his name. watch the video of his 23 goals from last season.

at least 4 of them are left foot, about 4 headers, about 4 right foot penalties and the rest are all left foot

i didnt say he had two good feet, i said seemingly he does.

thats a fair enough comment to make based on the fact he scored 4 out of 23 goals last season with his left foot.

you say you have seen all his goals from the last 3 years (not that closely it seems). have you seen all the misses, the mis-controls, the bad touches, the misplaced passes? probably not, so to categorically say he doesnt have a left foot is a pretty unfair statement to make

Forrest in place of tonev when/if fit and we'd mcgregor in the hole.

I would be happy with that tbh that team would've got us through the other night imo

Or Commons/Stokes for Tonev. Are Alex better than this two?

If we fail to sign a striker before Monday it will be an utter joke.

I know mate. I'll be raging.

It's now been 4 years since we bought a good striker. That's embarrassing.
