Stefan Johansen

He's been dodgy this season.

Some very poor performances but some decent ones as well.

 

I had thought he´s been awful in several games this season, yet was great for Lenny last season, great for Norway this season against top quality opposition and occasionally (like today) good for Deila this season. Maybe the problem wasn´t him.

Sometimes the player that looks bad isn´t the cause of the problem. I noticed Mulgrew had the same thing earlier in the season (giving the ball away constantly in the SPL and then looking imperious against * Germany, for example).

Saying that, it´s only earlier this week I was convinced of that about Johansen, I´d also thought he was just badly off form TBF.

 

The only contribution he made before today was when he prevented us from getting into the group stages of the champions league with that header off the line from vvd header

 

And there we have, Johansen, thriving in a more forward role. What a shock.

It's been so obvious he should have been played there long before now. Wonder passer of the ball.

 

I have been critical of him and I feel rightly so but he was fantastic today in a more advanced role hopefully we see this side to him more often.

 

Had a cracking game today played so much better in that attacking role

 

He's been mostly * this season, but yesterday he was outstanding. Hopefully he continues that form

He's not been off form at all, just blatantly played in the wrong position. He was still playing all these superb passes in his deeper role and getting 0 credit for it.

Wonderful footballer, can't wait till he ties down the playmaking role for good.

 

he has played well for us once this season imo . steady on . Need some middle ground in this forum , players are either labelled world beaters or a disgrace to the jersey.

Scarlett was not the only player getting it this year
every player other than Brown has got it,and rightfully so for the football for the most part has been * brutal.

Now whether that was due to the manager or the players,we shall see.

He is a great player, has had a bad start, but so has everyone. If played in the same system as Saturday he will be one of the best in the team.

 

I too have no concerns with him. He's one of our best midfielders, simple.

 

Best performance from him this season on Saturday by a long way.

 

He always should have been playing in the commons role. Anywhere else, and it's a waste or a great talent.

The guy can't tackle and doesn't have a presence, so playing him as a holding midfielder is useless.

 

Far better at the weekend, and overall looks to be coming back to form - one of these rare occasions when International break has benefited, as he excelled then by all accounts.

Distribution has picked up of late - energy has never been in doubt.

Must hope an average start to the season has been put well behind him, as him and Broony together is central to us putting a good run together.
