I think he looks a good player, quite surprised at the flack he has been getting

 

He's a very good player but deserves all the criticism he has got recently because he's been rotten.

 

I don't think he deserves the criticism, I think he's been following the managers instructions.

 

That maybe the case mate, but Deila won't be instructing him to give away cheap possession, something which I think he has been very guilty of this season. He has been caught on the ball too often in my opinion.

 

I really loved him last season. But this season his passing has gotten sloppy and he's been nowhere near as good as last season.
Plenty of time for improvement though. Once we see a proper settled side he, as everyone else, will start to perform better

 

He's also got the highest passing success rate in the team or he did have as of two weeks ago.

 

Honest opinion, forgetting about stats, do you think he has used the ball well this season? He might have the highest success rate %, but how many of them are short passes, how many are long, how many are key passes. To get an accurate measure on how well he has been with the ball, I think you would need to break it down more.

 

Definitely mate, I was just talking about ball retention. I think he's done ok in all of the above, that's the problem last year he was a * of a lot better than ok.

This year our midfield don't seem to be playing as a proper partnership, that might change now Brown's back. He's not the only central midfielder whose been effected by the change in style of play.

 

Aye, he was far better last season, no doubt about that. I want to see Kayal given a run of games, and right now, it would have to be at the expense of Johansen if we are going to stick with the same formation. Kayal hasn't put a foot wrong whenever he has been called upon this season, and in my opinion, has outperformed Johansen. Whenever Kayal has played though, he has been the first centre mid taken off, even though he has probably been the pick of the bunch.

 

I'm starting (just starting) to worry about Deila now. I still absolutely insist that he deserves until the spring, though.

 

I think he deserves until into next season, providing we win the league of course. It will be interesting to see if he is backed sufficiently come next summer.

 

I agree with all of the above. Kayal and Brown would definitely be my midfield two just now.

Wasn't too bad tonight..

Still gave it away a few times but not his worst..

 

He would be fine with kayal holding the midfield other than that he shouldn't be keeping kayal out the side sime as that

 

Genuinely forgot he was playing at times still think he can be a great player for us I'd give kayal a run of a few weeks now

 

Hit and miss today I'm not big fan of him he * it under pressure and can be very weak on the ball but he does work his heart out for the team.

 

Thought he had a rotten first half, picked up a good lot in 2nd half though. Full team was brilliant tonight. Shows what we are capable of
