I get what youre saying, last night he did not pass the ball very well but he was putting in the effort.

All in all I think he is one of the best players we have and it can't be easy playing in midfield with Mulgrew, now he is an absolute waste of a jersey.

The first leg against Maribor he was one of the best. He was running up and down the whole game. A couple of times he almost won the ball in the same way as when he scoret against Dundee. He created that big chance with a great run through the defence. He was unlucky when the ball bounced. What he tried to do on that corner was pressing the keeper so that the keeper wouldn't get a free way out to catch the ball. Obviously that wasn't smart, bery unlucky that it hit him. I have seen enough of him in Norway and on the national team to sayhe is a great player. He needs players around him moving so he can make those crosses or passes forward, not sideways or backwards.

One day he is called a brilliant player here, the next day he is * and people want him shipped out.

His energy levels last night were good, but his passing, not only last night, but in general, can be very sloppy in my opinion.

His strongest part of his game is passing and he was dreadful at it last night, now it's not Mulgrew's fault he could Not pass a ball last night.

He should have been hooked instead of Kayal.

I never said that I wanted him shipped out.

I just have my doubts about whether or not he will be able to cut it in European competition. He is undoubtedly good enough for the Scottish leagues, but that doesn't take much.

Did you not see mulgrew giving the ball away numerous times last night?

One of the times johansen gave it away was actually mulgrews fault because he didn't read the pass quick enough.

All players have off performances but there's too many that don't at least try

Mulgrew was * as well, I've not said once he was not, but the fact is it's not Mulgrew's fault with Johansen. He was pish cause he was not on his game at all.

For me he has blown hot and cold and is far too inconsistent, and like others have said he looks to have gone backwards under Ronny.

The team have went backwards mate because the board have not invested in quality.

The players I would keep in the team are van dijk, lustig, Matthews, johansen and McGregor.

Apart from that if any other players were sold I could not care less

I agree they haven't invested in quality and have been saying it for the past two years, but Johansen does not look the same player for me when he was playing under Lennon.

Also for me it was Ronny's tactics and formation last night that * us not the board, we have enough quality to go through IMO. But I've said all this in the Ronny thread, did not mean to go off topic.

He was supposedly bought for his passing ability but I see no real evidence that he has the quality to take us forward. Too many simple passes going astray suggests that even surrounded with more movement and better players he would still struggle. We need better. He is a grafter, nothing more nothing less.

he was bad last night but he was playing with mulgrew so it is forgiveable

why the * isn't kayal bitton and johansen our midfield 3 ???

really dont want to see mulgrew get a game for us anymore and i also dont want to blame it all on mulgrew the coaching staff HAVE TO BE ABLE TO SEE HIS WEAKNESSES LIKE WE DO

every european team we come against know he is one paced and has no agility so they sit on him and wait for the mistakes

johansen was hung out to dry by mulgrew

kayal was working his socks off

so dissapointed that the coaching team cant tell how good or bad the players are

give ronnie time but get his own right hand man in

Too many fans not understanding the game here I think.

Johansen is a good player, not quite as good as Ledley but not far off Brown. He just for me isnt being played correctly, he isnt being given a job or not the right one and is attempting to do too much.

People criticising his passing seem not to understand how hard it is to play good passes while exhausted. Johansen under Deila is running about like a nutcase, shutting down everything in sight non stop - of course his passing is going to be wayward due to that, it virtually impossible to pass a ball well while choking for a breath.

If he was being set up better tactically - IE. Like he was under Lennon, where his closing down was picked and choosed and he sat deeper more he'd be able to play a lot better too on the ball.

If you are constantly running about at 90mph you're passing, shooting, touch will suffer because you're more tired from the running you've been doing. You can easily test yourself at home. Grab a ball go down a park and put 10 crosses into the box like you're taking a freekick. Then run down the wing 40 yards with the ball and cross it when you get to the same position - accuracy badly suffers through exhaustion.

You can't do everything, you can't run about mental shutting down and ping the ball about with great accuracy. Managers have to set players up to get them playing to their best and as a team. Deila has show a lack of tactical knowledge thus far.

By blocking Virgils goal 1st game, it has basically ended up sealing Virgils exit from the club.

    Well done big heed.

Both his passes that stood out first half were not down to being exhausted, they were down to not looking. He tried to play them blind almost. It's very easy to tell the difference between a lazy pass, and just a silly pass. The one that nearly cost us first half when Ambrose bailed him out, was the latter.

Irony. Johansen is many, many, many times the footballer that Brown is.

Yes Brown has his good points but Johansen possesses the majority of them himself whilst also having proper technical ability, vision and weight of pass.
