obviously there are seated sections too. to be exact there are normally 3 seated sections and one standing section.

families, kids, everyone that doesn't want to stand -> get tickets for seated sections.

So it is a problem that applies to them

I suppose the law doesnt apply to them or shouldnt because they make noise?

He was meaning the fact if people stand, then people behind them can't see, that's what doesn't apply to the people in section 111, as they all want to stand and tickets are only distributed by the GB.

And Celtic, by law, cannot allow or give exemption to anyone to stand for 90 minutes. It makes them liable and open to legal action and they are certainly not going to allow themselves open to legal action against them by a GB member.

If Celtic could exempt themselves from responsibility for them, I think they would but they arent allowed so they have to treat them like everyone else and the rules apply to everyone.

    Its that simple.

    Completely understand that.

However, this doesn't make as much sense.

Nobody said they never stood for 90 minutes, it was said that the problem of people not being able to see behind them wasn't an issue in 111.

The statement is blatantly aimed at them and applies to them because they are standing and it's against the law as you said but not because others can't see, as that's not a problem in that particular section.

I stand every home game. Will I get hassle from the safety team ? No is the answer to that one.

How did this get round to the GB again.

Celtic built a Stadium for 61.000 fans seated ,the word is seated ,it does'nt say standing or anything else ,whats the problem ?

As we all know it was instigated by what happened at Hillsborough and it was made Law throughtout the British Isles that all football Stadia in the top leagues must be Seated ,there is no argument there lads.

Because the statement is clearly aimed at the GB, who coincidentally stand for 90 minutes.

Sorry KD didn't mean to drag my posts off topic, as the GB are the fans which stand regularly at homes games, I felt as if the statement was clearly aimed towards them, therefore not so far off topic.

And Celtic have announced that it will be a definite yes from now and you are getting a heads up about it. The statement suggest that they have been instructed to take a harder stance by the police.

I suppose the GB will reimburse Celtic for match day losses, if Celtic Park got their safety certificate revoked because of their persistent standing?? My * eye so they can toe the line like everyone else

i dont see how they could enforce this everytime somebody stands up a steward comes over and says "sit down now or get out"..i doubt it ...we all no they wont give a * about anyone else and will just target the GB...and then i dont see how they can force 500 or so people in that section and surrounding sections to sitdown it will turn into a joke!

the stewards and celtic need to relax ..do you really think the police or any law enforcement is really going to push through with fining celtic for this! if so they will have to act on every club in scotland! because most away fans stand for the game and it is that clubs duty that they sit is it not? it is just a way at getting bak at the GB or we would have been "reminded" of this long ago!

    Most of the time yes.

If the GB weren't here then Celtic wouldn't have blinked an eye to the minority of the fans who stand up.

If I am told to sit down during the next game then I vow to never go to a Celtic game again due to the fact that I am that confident that nothing will be said to me. I sit at the back of the stand with barely anyone in my row - not a problem.

It's only law in England and Wales for the Premiership and Championship Rab. In Scotland it's voluntary and it was the SFL and SFA that overseen this. Now the SPL are involved as well. The fact that it is not law shows me that standing isn't the problem. It's the crushing that can happen.

Now, when Celtic score, the first thing that we all do is jump up and go mental. You grab people that are beside you and lose your balance. This is the only time that standing, for me, can cause a problem. But seen as this happens wether you have and all seated or standing stadium makes the seating irrelevant for this instance. If you have a seat you normally stand in front of it. This could be allowed, I don't see why not. If Celtic feel that the safety is paramount then maybe they should not allow people t o stand at anytime during the match except when they leave their seat to buy some official merchandise or healthy food!!
