Where it would be amazing to expand the stadium and increase the number of fans for the high demand games, in the scale of priorities right now, I would rather see the money invested in the first team to give us the best chance of qualifying for the CL groups and winning the 10.

Celtic have restarted plans for a hotel and museum at Parkhead after submitting a fresh planning application to Glasgow City Council in the past few weeks.

The plans, submitted to the Council on July 6, detail the desire of the club to erect a hotel, shop, ticketing facility and museum with associated access, car parking and landscaping works on land to the west of Celtic Park in the east end of the city.

Planning permission was initially granted for the multi-million pound project back in September of 2017, subject to a condition that the level of retail floorspace be limited to 1500 sq. m and no individual retail unit should exceed 400 sq. m - to protect existing local shopping centres.

It was really annoying me at times today, then large parts of it were clearly cutting up. I thought we got a hybrid desso under Rodgers? It wouldn’t surprise me if they’ve made a * of that aswell.

Given some of the rain lately I wasnt gonna be too harsh but nah, it's definitely not the fancy pitch we were meant to have.

Fir Park putting us to shame

Fir Park has been the best pitch in the country for years.

Like our first team no matter how much money you fling at it or how high the quality is, if you don’t have the right people in charge it doesn’t matter.

Yet Motherwell did throw money at their pitch by sorting out the drainage issues especially in the one corner. :84:

Anything recently about any of this?

Also, do you think it will be possible in the near future to have the front row of seats filled for European games, I know it’s because of the sponsors but surely there’s a way we can sort of get round that. It’s frustrating watching on the tv and seeing those first few rows not being filled

It was all just a big PR move by the board.

I remember at the time folk would justify the abysmal windows on the fact we ‘are building a hotel!!!!’

CELTIC Football Club have been granted planning permission for a full-size indoor training pitch structure in Glasgow’s East End.

Glasgow City Council planning officials have approved the facility which will be at the club’s Barrowfield training/youth development grounds on London Road.

It will comprise one large undercover space with a 105 x 68-metre pitch.

Permission had also previously been given for a new building housing changing rooms and gym.

A design statement submitted with the indoor pitch application stated: “The aesthetics of the facility will be in keeping with other facilities owned by Celtic FC, with a white tensile structure with a 4.1-metre-high green solid base at low level.

“The curved white upper part of the development helps to soften the visual effect of the proposal.”

The statement continued: “The building sits to the south east of the site, adjacent to an existing full-size grass football pitch and an existing full-size floodlit synthetic football pitch.”

“It is anticipated that the facility will not significantly impact on existing residents, amenity or traffic.

“Rather the proposal will enhance the facilities on offer at the training ground, allowing the football club to maintain their training programme for all academy groups whatever the weather, which in turn will bring improved opportunities for health and well-being.”

    That's great

I live beside Foxboro and the Patriots have the same thing as a training facility

Foreign players being shown that they wont spend their week training in the freezing rain and cold is a massive plus

Totally agree with the sentiments in here...

I'd love to see a capacity increase.

It's not even unfeasible to add another 10k by simply lowering the pitch, and it could be done in close season. However... It's not technically NEEDED.

What I think is needed, is expanding the safe standing from the curve to the entire lions.

But before that... Paint the * thing for ffs.

Jesus wept it's such a tragedy to enjoy the cracking surroundings, the Celtic way, the beautiful exterior and statues... Then make your way around to your turnstile looking at them * poles. Even from my oul seat in the jock stein, I used to look up and think ffs, paint those * poles.... And I gave my seat up 8 years ago when I moved to Asia ffs.

    It's not a big ask.

Painters don't even use brushes anymore ffs. Spray the *, then put an all weather finish on it to limit maintenance. Done.

Plan it right, we may not even need to pay the painters.....

Totally could do with a general freshen up so it could.

But we aren't the only ones to be fair. Ever been to camp nou or the likes? Get beyond what they show the tourists and these places are a dump
