For those who are in love.....
The gap between fisher and Matthews is deffo closer than the gap between efe and Virgil..

Saturday's a fair old distance from Thursday to rest up and get ready for inter and we're at home so no travelling. Play our same team from partick and get the game won first half, then rest some big guns for inter . Johansen, broony and give guidetti and Griffiths time each to give us options ahead of Thursday..

Aye, I would feel more comfortable with Fisher in at right back ahead of Matthews, as opposed to Ambrose playing instead of Van Dijk.

A highly experienced Internationalist, AFCON winner or a young right back that only ever got games when Lustig and Matthews were both injured.

Ambrose all day every day over Fisher.

If Matthews was to get injured Efe would play right back. As Deila did earlier this season.

Much better performances over the last few weeks.

My only real criticism would be the team taking their foot off the gas once their a couple of goals up. I want Celtic to batter other teams for 90 mins and with huge scorelines.

I'd personally be much happier about that, especially at set pieces where Ambrose is VASTLY under rated.

Folk forget he can be solid when he isn't * about like a *.

Yes, because the gap in quality between Matthews and Fisher, is not as big a gulf compared to Van Dijk and Ambrose.

    Fisher Denayer Van Dijk Izaguirre

    or

    Matthews Denayer Ambrose Izaguirre

It would be the top one all day long for me.

I wouldn't, it unbalances the whole team and we'd need to give Broony a reminder not to sit 5 yards away from him go babysit anytime he got the ball as he was earlier on this season.

I don't mind Ambrose at CB but at right back he makes me want to commit suicide.

Throwing Fisher in against Inter Milan would be stupid.

    Ambrose Denayer Van Dijk Emilio

    Better than both.

Slight over exaggeration. :56:On both counts.

His recovery pace, tackling and heading would be crucial if Matthews isn't playing.

Did you not see Ambrose at right back earlier in the season? It was awful to watch.

Nah, I committed suicide when I found out he was playing there.

Ambrose at position is self destruction.

For any decent performance he totally * up a game by himself.

To be fair, Fisher was also injured then if I remember correctly, so I'm not sure if he would go with Ambrose or not. When both Ambrose & Fisher have been on the bench, and we have replaced the right back, it has been Fisher to come on ahead of him I think.

    Aye, only slightly though :56:

As crazy as it would be to break up Denayer and Van Dijk I'd rather play Denayer right back and have Ambrose in the middle. At right back the two things you mentioned is the only thing he does, he loses possesion, he slows play down, he makes those around him nervous and I might have been exaggerating by saying Broony sits 5 yards away babysitting but not by much.

Is he though? The man can't direct a header on target to save his life.

True. He has been in the job a lot longer now though, and I really don't think Deila fancies Ambrose. I don't think he would make the mistake again of playing Ambrose at right back.

Not attacking wise, defensively he meets a * of a lot in the air. Doesn't know where he's directing it but he generally meets it.

I think he just knows he isn't good enough for the first team but is quite happy with him as a back up. Hopefully not at right back but still.

    Thank you Spider and Alba.

Efe is not good enough, full stop.
Is it a coincidence that Virgil and Jason are playing far better than when he is on the pitch. He makes them as nervous as he makes us. Yes he makes mistakes and people seem to not mind this, but when he does it effects the defence for most of the game wondering what he will do next. Experience is all he has got going for him.
