Yeah I think it shows. Play was better there though, free kick not the best but starting to look more positive.

 

Let's give the youths some fitness, so they can be fully match sharp.... and then get wasted as they sit on the bench or play reserve games against Fleetwood and Grimsby.

Our youths may seem * but that's only because we give them a glimpse of 1st team action aged 17/18, and then forget about them until they're 22 when they've lost all momentum and confidence and they get released to play league 2 football.
Look at the potential McGeouch showed when he broke through, scored a wondergoal on his home debut but we've utterly ruined him and a few others. Twardzik - a skilled attacking mid who should be Commons' understudy at number 10 - played at Left Back every few months.

To be fair I imagine Spurs fans have the same concerns. They've got a few good youngsters who did well in the nextgen but don't think any have been given a chance, except for Harry Kane who seemed to put Soldado to shame in a couple games near the end of last season.

 

No, they are not fit enough. And as you can see you have different youngsters playing. They should try to impose themselves in order to be near first team during forthcoming season, they should be aware that they are playing against top 5 team from EPL and they need to give all they can during a game like this. After a game like this, our typical youngster should be aware how good he is compared to guys like Soldado, Eriksen, etc, and he should be motivated to work even more in order to improve himself. I really don't understand all the negativity, but each to their own.

 

if this friendly is all about fitness and trying new formation, tactics etc then we should be playing the team that will start on Wednesday night , getting their match fitness up and having them go thru any new formations tactics etc not * kids that will not learn a thing from this game.

 

We're playing the youths because we've bigger fish to fry next Wednesday, hence why most of the first team and Ronny are still back in Glasgow.

 

So Pukki playing today would suggest he wont feature on Weds?

 

What if we picked up a few injuries to players like VVD, Izzy or Johansen before our crucial game next week? Then you'd be wishing we played the youths!

Not neccessarily, but the game is in Finland so he probably wanted to play it. Personally I'd start with Stokes on Wednesday anyway.
