Well, the first game of the season is this thursday. It doesn't seem like it's been long since the season finished!

So, we obviously have pretty much the same squad as last season minus the guys at the world cup. We haven't sold anyone (yet), and no new purchases have been made. It looks unlikely we'll see any new faces before the European game.

Who are we wanting to see get a run out then? I'm hoping Tony Watt gets a few games this close season and proves what he's capable of to the new manager, and maybe even give big Balde a few minutes at the end!

I'll pin this thread and update the title to reflect the next game and any details.

I'm really looking forward to hopefully seeing our youth getring a run out:

    O'Connell
    Fraser
    Miller
    McGregor
    Henderson

Also looking forward to seeing if the guys who were on the fringes of the first team are looking to stamp their mark, guys like:

    Balde
    Fridjonnson
    Boeriggter
    Atajic
    Rogic
    Mcgeouch
    Pukki

What's the deal with Craig Gordon? Are we still signing him? Would be good to get a look at him if he is gonna be part of the club.

Is there confirmation on the KO time for this? I've seen 4.30pm and 5.30pm both mentioned. Says 4.30pm on the fixture list on the website...

Injured, or taking extra time to recuperate? He failed to be fit for the WC, so I don't know when we will see him in the Hoops again...

If we ever see him in the hoops again. His time has been and gone imo. Hasn't really had a lot of time to prove himself, but in the time he has had he's not really done enough for me.

Agreed Paddy. There is real reason to be optimistic in my opinion especially with the youth players you have mentioned. All praise to Chris McCart and JK etc.
If Ronny can get them going and the others Pukki, Balde etc, we may see some great options (Defence, Mid and attack) for the squad next season.
    Cannae wait !! :celt_2::celt_2:

Which is absolutely nothing?:smiley-laughing002: In his 15 games he got 527 mins. Not alot, majority being sub appearances.

Only game I can remember him starting is his debut at ICT when he won man of the match. We are constantly going on about needing a creative midfielder why not give him a chance. Whenever he was 'played' it was out of position far too deep in the midfield to make any real impact.

I'm not saying he will be a star and I know what you are getting at but it's a bit unfair to write him off when he has had barely no time on the pitch as you admitted yourself.

As far as I'm concerned, Deila and Collins have walked i to a ready made team/squad/club with what they have at their disposal - they will he excited at the prospect of only having to work hard on changing the footballong philosophy in the team, as well as moulding young players and fringe players into pushing for places in the starting bearth.

Also forgot to add young Daniel Giordiano into the mix - young goalkeeper who has established himself as no.3 between the sticks - if Zaluska goes, he will take over as no.2 until a replacement is brought in, or if he performs well enough to continue as no.2

We have a new management team in place, meaning everyone starts off on a clean slate and will be given a chance to prove they are good enough to be at the club :50:

I was in Austria this time last year. Based myself in Vienna for about halfthe trip and the other toured around the country a bit. Vienna was a beautiful city but if any Celts heading over for these games get a chance to spend a day in Hallstatt take it. I stayed there 2 days and it was amazing.

As entertaining as the World Cup has been, nothing beats watching Celtic- even if it is only a training match.
