Has everyone forgotten about McGeady or do you just not rate him? Lenny said he is fit for Braga game. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with not selecting him, but I'm quite surprised because he tends to shine in Europe for example he ran rings around Puyol.

we all expect him to go by the end of the transfer window so i guess we're just naming the team we think will be available throughout the season :50:

I would like to revamp 'fritz a grand ol team' as its a bit old and cheesey, needs some fat beats
I have a bad feeling about this game.. I think they are going to be a well organized and tricky side and we have a lot of guys that have never played together before .. a lot of players in and out without enough time to settle. Not trying to put a downer on everything just a genuine concern. I could be wrong and our guys are all wanting to impress and fight for there position, I'm looking forward to seeing the new guys I just hope we don't get caught not giving them the right amount of respect

a draw would be a good result given the circumstances, I would take that to parkhead

Braga have the worst possible choice in their team for keeper as their best has been sold and back up is injured. Get stuck in celtic.

They have just bought a new goalkeeper and a full back and are still trying to sign Luis Aguiar from Russia. So they may be in the same situation.

They were beaten in a friendly 3-1 by Bilbao the other night although I know this wont mean much.

But yes I agree I hope nobody under-estimates this team - full of technically good players and will cause problems.

Few opinions on who should start in Wed upfront:

TIMES TALKER: Should Murphy start in Braga?

NO says RONNIE CULLY
A goal on his debut brought an immediate positive promise from Neil Lennon that Daryl Murphy would be on the bench at least for this week’s game.
But, after just 65 minutes playing for a Hoops team comprising not a single player expected to line up in Portugal, it would be asking too much to throw Murphy on from the start.
Despite signing two weeks ago, Murphy will train with his new team-mates for the first time today. In fact, he only met Lennon on Friday.
If, as expected, the manager decides to go with one up then Marco Fortune – if recovered from his knee injury – or Georgios Samaras – who played that role effectively for Greece at the World Cup – would be safer bets and Murphy could be on hand from the bench.

YES says MATTHEW LINDSAY
Who is most likely to score for Celtic against Braga? Marc-Antoine Fortune? Georgios Samaras? Or Daryl Murphy?
One thing most followers of the Glasgow club will agree on is that it is no guarantee that Fortune and Samaras will score in Portugal on Wednesday.
For all that pair’s strengths, they are not prolific goalscorers.
So why not give Murphy, the Republic of Ireland hitman who netted on his debut for Celtic against Lincoln on Saturday, the chance to show what he can do?
This is a massive match for manager Neil Lennon. An away goal could prove vital to his chances of qualifying for the group stage of the competition.
Murphy is an experienced player who will not be overawed by the occasion.

Must say that I am undecided. In one hand can we rely on a player who we relatively know nothing about in Europe, with a not so great scoring record himself.?
Do we start Fortune/Sammy together or with Rass or Maloney?
Or do we throw in Hooper at the deep end?

Opinions?

The Portuguese side stand in the way of Celtic in the Third Qualifying Round of the Champions League. Square Football noted 20 handy facts about Braga back in March 2007 when they were drawn against Spurs in the Europa League. Some of these nuggets were there in 2007 but most are new.
1. One Braga player appeared in the Portugal squad in South Africa- keeper Eduardo who made a decent impression in a tournament where most goalies were average at best. However, he has now moved to Genoa in Serie A.
2 . Sporting play at an amazing stadium partly carved out of a hillside quarry. It was shown off to spectacular effect in Euro 2004.
3. <?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = ST1 />Braga are actually known as ‘Minho’s Arsenal’ in Portugal. In 1930 their manager decided that they should play in Arsenal’s red and white rather than their previous green.
4. Last season's runners-up finish was Braga's highest ever placing in the Portuguese top flight.
5. The club have been European regulars in recent seasons winning the last Intertoto Cup in 2008 and advancing to the group stages in the UEFA Cup for three seasons in a row.
6 In 2008/09 they beat Portsmouth 3-0 in a group game that was Harry Redknapp's last in charge at Fratton Park.
7, In 2007 they gave Spurs a tough contest over two legs before going down 6-4 on aggregate.
8, Brazilian players are always prominent in Portugal but Braga have no less than 14 from that country in their first team squad
9 Cameroon international Albert Meyong is a key forward, although he wasn't selected for the World Cup.
10 Meyong converted two penalties in last season's derby game with Vitoria Guimares, Braga's bitter rivals. Children under 13 are only allowed into the derby games if accompanied by an *, such is the intensity.
11. Braga only lost 3 League games last season and based their success on a strong defensive effort. Only 20 goals were conceded in 24 matches.
12. Goals were harder to come by. Meyong top scored with just 11 League strikes.
13. Key man at the back in Peruvian international Alberto Rodriguez who joined the club back in 2006.
14 Braga's one major honour is the Portuguese Cup in 1966.
15. Their most common formation last season was 4-2-3-1, with occasional variations.
16 Over the summer they have signed Spanish forward Juan Collado from Villarreal.
17. Before switching to their Arsenal-style kit, Braga played in Celtic-like green and white hoops.
18, The Director of Football at Braga is former international Fernando Couto
19.Argentinian midfielder Andres Madrid may play a part against Celtic. Unusually, Braga loaned him to rivals Porto during the second half of last season
20. Portuguese under 21 cap Heldar Barbosa is another new recruit, The left-winger was released by Porto and along with Braga product Pizzi, he gives the side a youthful presence out wide

I really hate it when they play the 'we're in disarray and underdogs, and we've even got flu' card.

They're no mugs, and come from a better league than ours. That said, if they've got such a * keeper I hope we decide to really test him at every opporchancity.

Mon the hoops.
