Agree with most of that, however the money thing is doing a bit of a disservice to the other teams in my opinion. There are folk on here, myself included who live in hope that we get a result against Barca at least at home. Just because those players earn tens of thousands more pounds than ours doesn't mean we can't give them a right good game. The same goes for the teams in this league against us.

That being said the team does need a major boot up the * because some don't seem to be willing to put the effort in to go with their undoubted talent and that just isn't acceptable.

We maybe would have won the league last season if they didnt get deducted points but maybe we wouldnt. Point is we will never know as it was handed to us 4 months before the end of the season. Its nothing disrespectful, its a fact that the league was over as soon as they got deducted the points. Keep hearing about clawing back a 15 point gap, how the * did we go 15 points behind them in the first place?? Playing like we did today is how we went so far behind. Cant believe how many excuses people make for this team. Just seems like everyone thinks "ah * it, we will win the league anyway".

I would hope that our players go at Barca the way St Johnstone went at us today, with the same final scoreline.

Agreed for the most part too mate. Spot on.:50:

RE money, i'm purely working under the "get what you pay for" adage. A guy on 15k p/w takes the guts of 500 season ticket holders to pay for him week by week....which is why more should be expected of a team full os earners in that bracket.

The main worry is complacency. It was a huge worry of mine pre season, and even more so now. Just happy (for want of a better word) it is at the very start, and the boot up the * can happen right now at an early stage.

Completely agree. It's not just the players; a fair section of the Celtic support in general unfairly characterise the SPL as a piece of pish distraction.

As a Celtic supporter, I am naturally disappointed when Celtic don't get a good result. Then after I get in from the match or after I watch on TV, I occasionally come on the forum. I am then immediately downhearted again after reading the utter * from people that simply can't comprehend the fact that we can't go through a whole season winning every game, or can't understand that players are human and can have an off day. It really does sadden me. We lost. We played poorly. Get over it. On to the next game. The same people that moan after every negative result are the same guys that automatically jump on the bandwagon after a brilliant European or derby result. Some people simply need to learn to support the team through thick and thin.

I dont choose to support Celtic, i was born supporting them. Does supporting your team mean you cant have an opinion on them??

The league finished the day they went into administration. Yes we were ahead but we were also ahead the season before and never seen it through. I believe we would have won the league last season regardless but the title was handed to us 4 months before the season ended whether you like it or not.

if NEIL Lennon doesn't pick up the pace, the support will be calling for ALEX MCLEISH to take up the challenge. there are fans not to bothered with this result, but there are more going to get restless and they can only take so much. it might be for the best, that Celtic don't have a manager that has to many ties with the club. this is a results business and I HATE BAD RESULTS also.

Rangers sold their title hopes to Everton for £5m at the end of January. Assuming things would have worked out the way they did, even without Rangers going into administration, we would still have won the title, as we finished more than 10 points clear of them. Had the 10 points not been knocked off, they still would have been unable to catch us.

You can't say it was because they had lost players either, as they still had a full squad to choose from (minus Jelavic, who they made a profit on) between February 14th and the end of last season.

The season before was Lenny's first season after having to rip up Mowbrays mess and start again with a brand new team.

To run the huns so close that year was more than you could ask for.

Even without the huns ten point deduction we still finished 10 points ahead of them so the "handed it to us" argument is a load of * pish.

Just a quick question. Does coming on a forum after a game and voicing some opinions make you less of a supporter ?? I dont care who plays for us or who manages us they will still recieve my full backing when im at the game. Just because i then come on and discuss things good or bad about the team doesnt make me less of a supporter. This is a forum where we can all come and have a discussion about our team.

You must have LOVED stuffing Oldco numerous times, winning the league last year and getting into the Champions League all under Neil Lennon. Must have absolutely loved it.

Woh Woh Woh eediot who sed there better than Lenny? U made yer own ASSumption there.
When I mention these other managers I mean that they would crave our squad and I'm sure that if they can giv us a game with the * that they field how good would there teams be with our squad.

Flip it around do you think celts would win the league by swapping all the players with any other spl squad?

10 points took any pressure of us and just deflated them. The title was over the moment they got the deduction. Why cant you just admit that ??

It depends how naive the opinion is. Some of the comments on this thread are worse than idiotic.

You sound so spoilt, it was a draw (edit loss) ffs not the end of the world. Try supporting a team when the chips are really down. The fact is we have a champions league game on wed and the players clearly had their mind on that, im sure Lennon wont let it happen again.

    And Mcleish? ffs.

Your argument is flawed, last season we finished 31 points ahead of any team that's in the league right now. Why don't you come back at the end of the season and see how much of a game they gave us and how much of a challenge they put up over the course of a season instead of kneejerk reactions five games into the new campaign?
