I'd go for it. Copete and Berrío are busting a gut out on the wings. Luis Carlos Ruiz dragging the River centre backs around creating space and Edwin Cardona feeding them. Looking good so far.

Of course River could have some luck on the counter. They are unlucky not to have one themselves.

I dont see a lot of goals in the second half now.I can see both teams settling for that score.Hope im wrong.

I presume it is still away goals double in South America?

All depends on who scores the next one. River, and they settle for that and defend. Atlético score, they will have to press home that advantage before going south.

Nope. No away goals for the final.

Better result for River and I think Atlético Nacional deserved the win. Still all to play for.

    Run ref run! :56:

That Inter win puts Corinthians into the first round of the Libertadores, instead of the groups. They could play one of these Colombia sides - Santa Fe, Junior de Barranquilla, Independiente Medellín or Once Caldas. Then they could go into the group with defending champions San Lorenzo, São Paulo and Uruguayan champions Danubio. No matter what, that is the "group of death".

Palmeiras survive by the skin of their teeth and the Bahia clubs go down.Pretty bad all round. A great city like Salvador, the third biggest in the country, will be without a single club in the top flight next year, so that Palmeiras, a team that only added schadenfreude to the league this year can stay. Terrible for futebol Baiano.

Vitória were the better team too tonight. Sadly caught on the break by Santos at the very end of the game.

Sport of Recife will be the only North Eastern team in the top flight next year. That tells you all you need to know about the horrendous gap between the poverty of the north and the relative wealth of the south. It infects all aspects of society.

Rebaixados this year... Vitória, Bahia, Botafogo and Criciúma.

And Fred "the cone" finished top scorer. I don't know if that is a good advert for the league or not :56:

    In short, not really.

At Corinthians he had a tough time of it, which wasn't all his fault. He failed to get into double figures for league goals and only got 17 in his 57 games in his only full season. That season Corinthians struggled to create chances and lacked a creative spark in their team. Only bottom team Náutico scored less.

Tite had them playing defensively, yet Pato still made plenty of mistakes that * everyone off... namely this penalty against Grêmio in the Copa do Brasil.

Plus this slice of wonder striking against Boca Juniors :56:

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52WfJ9opMTI[/ame]

This year loaned out to rivals São Paulo* who are much more attacking force. There he had more to feed off with Kaká; Souza, Ganso, Denílson and the interesting Boschilia working well to help him. He got off to a good start but then got injured and struggled to get back into the team with Alan Kardec and Luís Fabiano then in front of him. Still had the odd moment of madness...

Obviously struggles with the "wonder kid" tag he got at Internacional. Think Fiorentina want to sign him now. Can't see him back at Corinthians ever again as the fans hate him. When he scored his first goal for São Paulo he threw up the "Punho Cruzado" symbol to the Torcida. This show for them made him even more unpopular with Corinthians. In the world of the torcidas organizadas these symbols show the unions between groups, like "friendships" in Europe. They also how the biggest rivalries, like Os União do Punho Cruzados (the crossed fist union) vs Os União Dedos pro Alto (fingers up high union).

    * Used as a counter weight for bring in Jádson to add creativity to the Corinthians midfield. Corinthians had enough up front to do without Pato so they removed him, freeing up space for Luciano and Ángel Romero to work with Paolo Guerrero. Elias was another top quality buy for them.
