Unstoppable and maybe even the season Marcelo Moreno shows what a good player he really is.

We also have the last 16 of the Copa do Brasil.

    Grêmio x Santos
    Botafogo x Ceará
    Cruzeiro x Santa Rita
    Vasco da Gama x ABC
    Flamengo x Coritiba
Atlético Paranaense x América de Natal
    Atlético Mineiro x Palmeiras
    Corinthians x Bragantino

I think we will have a last eight of...

    Grêmio x Ceará
    Cruzeiro x Vasco
Flamengo x Atlético Paranaense (last years final rematch)
    Atlético Mineiro x Corinthians

Santa Rita are a small team from Alagoas. That don't even play in a national level league so some people on Wiki have got the result done already.

And when things look OK for Flamengo for the first time in ages the police jump in. Luiz Antônio is being investigated for embezzlement after his car was stolen, only to turn up with a drug kingpin who said it was a "gift".

Copa Sudamericana begins to today. This is the latest version of South American's "Europa League" and it may prove to be one of the most interesting in years.

From Brazil we have the best line up in years with São Paulo, Internacional and Fluminense standing out. Argentina has stand out names in River Plate, Boca Juniors, Lanús, Estudiantes, Gimnasia and Rosario Central. The Brazilian clubs and Argentine clubs play among themselves for the next round places. Everyone else is providing a good spread of talent from Atlético Nacional, Emelec, Cerro Porteño, Libertad, Danubio and Universidad Católica among others.

Of course tonight only one of that lot is coming out. Tonight we have Universitario (the less famous Bolivian one) x Iquique (the Chilean city that made headlines this year for it's earthquake) and Rentistas (Uruguay) x Cerro Porteño. Cerro Porteño lost Ángel Romero to Corinthians but have kept his brother Óscar. They have also kept hold of this season top scorer in the Libertadores, Julio dos Santos (formally of Bayern Munich).

The first game which looks like it will grab headlines is on the second of September. Gimnasia y Esgrima x Estudiantes, the La Plata derby.

haha, the two guys I picked out for Cerro Porteño both scored, Óscar Romero and Julio dos Santos. A 2 x 0 away win for them against Rentistas.

See I do know what I'm talking about here :56:

Mid-week Brasileirão *! Can you feel the excitement? Well, maybe not but we do have a good game in Porto Alegre.

Best "early" kick of is Santos x Atlético Paranaense. Late night we have Internacional x São Paulo and another good game in Flamengo x Atlético Mineiro. Maracanã hoe form hopefully pull the mighty vultures further away from the relegation zone. No Cruzeiro tonight.

Leandro Damião finally scores in the league. Expect the world to collapse in on itself. 1 x 0 Santos right on half time.

    EDIT - https://vine.co/v/ML76dZMeeUQ

    Look, he finally scored :56:

Coritiba just scored. If they win tonight Palmeiras will go bottom.

And Botafogo lost again to Figueirense. At the start of the season I said all the Catarinense teams would go down but now it looks like Palmeiras, Botafogo and Flamengo could all go down. That would be a massacre. Take Brazil 1 x 7 Germany and times it by a thousand for the reaction if that happened.

Luciano hat-trick in under ten minutes. 5 x 2 Corinthians. Amazing turn around. Luciano was the star for Corinthians in a poor state championship for them this year. Had gone quite on the goal front since then but now he explodes.

First hat-trick on the season I think.

Thought Cruzeiro drew 0-0 at home to Gremio, was about to say I was surprised at that because Cruzeiro have been pretty good so far. Snook it late on though with Dagoberto scoring the winner. That's them 5 points clear then. Will take some stopping you'd reckon.

Yes. I said earlier that it will take a miracle to stop them. Looking at their run of games they should move further away. Next game you could see them losing is away to São Paulo mid way throuh next month. The teams tailing them keep taking points off each other too. Such as Inter losing for the first time in five games against São Paulo.

Cruzeiro have a quality all across the pitch that no one else comes close to. Everyone across the park chips in with goals with is vital in the long Brazilian season.

Christ Corinthians could've had about 8 or 9 :smiley-laughing002:. Good to see a Brazilian stadium basically filled too, and what does that hold, about 50k isn't it? The past while, any time I've watched the league it's been played in relatively empty stadiums.

Fluminense still a few points ahead of Flamengo, looking forward to the 20th September for Fluminense to put them in their place :86:
