Sons of Anarchy was right up there until Stahl got bumped. It was still entertaining after that but it got progressively more ridiculous and repetitive as it went on. Still good TV just not good enough to be mentioned at the very top.

I thought they nailed the ending. I’m not religious but it made sense. Shame about the rest of the season leading up to the finale :giggle1:

End of Blue Comet has to be one of the most haunting scenes in the whole show. Tony realises he truly is alone with it all, Bacala is dead, Sil is in a coma and likely will never emerge from it, He took Chrissy to Beakskill...

now all he has is a thrown together rag tag team of all the spare parts, of which Paulie is the most capable....frightening in itself.

the music as he lies on the bed in the creepy safe house with his gun and the cut back to the Calzone with legs saying “you probably don’t even hear it when it happens” is brilliant. Gives a real sense of impending doom. Fantastic stuff!!!

Bacala had the most impressive belly I’ve ever seen, especially in the first few seasons. No idea how he managed to stand upright, he was wider than he was taller.

That is true to an extent. Everyone was out for themselves, the show basically shuts all over the LCN bulls hit values of loyalty to the family and the boss and generally the “rules” of that life in general. That said, I feel as though Tony truly could rely on Silvio and Bacala, look at Silvio going out of his way to serve Tony’s interests without him knowing by killing Burt Gervasi after he talks about being in league with NY. When I say Tony is alone, I mean that his inner circle is now completely gone. The guys he viewed as either capable enough or trustworthy enough to be in his inner sanctum were finished.

Colleague actually pointed one out to me today.. said when Tony and Gloria Trillo are going at it in the reptile room at the zoo, the snakes behind Gloria are symbolic of a noos.

I’ve watched the show three times and never picked that up.

To be fair seeing anything other than Gloria in that scene would be weird.
