sing away padmill, you are correct about the boring moaners around about the stadium, but you did ask me which songs I would prefer to be sung in the stadium and I answered you, I sing my support of the team in one way, you do it another way and perhaps reflects a different generation, so enjoy your oh oh's until the rest of the stadium decide whether or not they are going to get involved in actually "supporting" the team again.

    Fair enough mate..although i wasn't having a dig like

A lot of the GREAT chants we have had over the past few years are being copied from St. Pauli supporters and the chanting in Germany is fantastic!

I cant wait till Celtic Park is rocking again and EVERYONE is singin Walk On in tandum with each other.

You may be correct mate about the generational thing about the chants changing...but i'm sure older generation of fans before you would have said the same thing about you young ones:icon_mrgreen:

as for the post above, a major generation gap exists there

Depeche Mode - Just Cant Get Enough from 1981 !

Even if it is ned pish, I don't know if this song should be played over the speakers when we score goals or whatever, but I'd rather people sing this song than nothing at all.

What's confusing is how you've come to the conclusion that it's neds listen to it. I'm not keen on the song myself but there's a few people in this thread alone, that like it. Are they all neds?

Don’t mean to grab the fence here, but surely a couple of classics like the Fields, and Over & Over can be sung alongside a few more modern tunes and therefore keep everyone happy....<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Like anything else mate, it's a generalisation, that type of pish repetitive speeded-up music is associated with neds, yes.

Just like you would associate tracksuits, * jewellery, lowered car suspensions, stupid big exhaust pipes, burberry hats and buckfast with neds.

I'm sure plenty of non-neds indulge in some of those things as well.

i'm afraid it does make sense.you said because neds listen to it it's 'ned music'

so that would mean if plenty of neds listen to celtic songs then they are also 'ned music'

why the big deal about this anyway.if people wanna sing a song then it's their choice.if it gets the crowd going then wheres the harm?

I'm happy with anything - song, or repetitive chant being sung at Parkhead if it's an alternative to silence and boo's/groans. The song might not be a great song, in fact it's pretty * (personal opinion, don't like any music of that style), but it's better to hear than the boo's, groans and silence that was home matches 2008-09 and 2009-10.

Perhaps not over the tannoy, if the fans want to sing it then feel free, but there's no real need for music straight after a goal, i prefer to savour the cheer of the crowd and the songs which accompany scoring against Rangers, in particular, e.g. 'Can you hear the Rangers sing' or simply songs such as Willie Maley.

Have to say its a bit of a sweeping generalisation to dismiss listeners of this song as 'neds', particularly when people on this site have stated their like for the song. Harsh to call them neds from behind a computer screen when you have no clue who they are and what they are like as a person.
