Just putting on the replay of the Grand Prix semi final from earlier tonight. Ronnie beat Ding 6-1...4 centuries a 70-odd and a 90. Every * saying it's probably the best session of snooker they've ever seen. Guy is a * freak man, nearly 50 year old and it's just too easy for him :giggle1:

He’s just taking the * at this stage.

4-0 down to Trump this afternoon and he couldn’t pot a ball out of his way. Everything he took on wasn’t even going close. 6-3 down and wins 7 of the last 8 frames to win 10-7. The best

Been watching this last few hours hoping it starts getting exciting but it's been a pish final really. 7-6 Ronnie the now and neither of them have done anything special. Disappointing.

Where are the young and up and coming players, the future champions of tomorrow, seems to be all the auld farts still dominating the game.

The boy Si that got to the world semi's last season looked like he could be a potential future Ronnie type, hope to see his name popping up more often over the next few year.

Was thinking that the other day, years ago we had the likes of hendry, williams, doherty etc coming into the game after the likes of davis ,taylor etc but now it seems there are no young lads coming through.

Strange really, maybe the future of the game is with the chinese lads.

I can remember Hendry's emergence in the late 80's, it was an exciting time because he changed the game, previously Davis had dominated the game with a boring brand of snooker with the emphasis on safety.

Along came young Hendry, he played with no fear, had an attacking game, introduced the power shot off the blue into the pack, also was a phenomenal middle pocket player, but i think his biggest quality was his mentality and bravery on the table.

Neither were at their best in the morning session. Far from it. The last 8 frames Ronnie produced some really good snooker but not the brilliant best he’s capable of. Trump choked.

There’s really nobody coming through except some Chinese players. Most of them are quite slow and methodical though.

Looking forward to watching young Si Jiahui again today, was mega impressed with his showing last year. Tough game against Williams at 2.30 but these are tge games you need to win if you want to get to the top. Interesting one.

Si doing well, 3-3 with Williams so far. He's got a ways to go to get to the top of the game, positionally fragile at tines and lack of focus. But he absolutely relishes the pressure, no seen someone so young be as cool at the crucible. Zero * given.

Maguire looks up for it always wanted him to do well as I think he’s massively underachieved throughout the years. Watched the Higgins match earlier he needs to up his game he’s miles off it when it come to long Pots atm

Some amount of dross in this years tournament, ageing players and others nowhere near good enough just making up the numbers, only obstacle to O'sullivan winning it is Trump, and even at that i don't think he has the mental strength tbh.
