Outstanding final and a thoroughly deserved win for Brecel.

Selby was a class act at the end as well.

    Aye... Brilliant game that.

Superb stuff there, thought Selby was looking good for it for a while but amazing bottle from Brecel to hold it together.

Great final and great tournament overall. Two maximums one of them in the final, the emergence of the next GOAT contender in Si. It's been * tremendous.

This was a superb watch. Seen a few interviews by Ronnie over the past week as he's promoting his new documentary, which is also excellent.

The Masters on BBC the now, Williams v Carter tonight. 2-2 just back out after the interval. Nothing spectacular so far, made worse by having Davis and Murphy on commentary.

Mark Allen v Ali Carter just starting on BBC 2, second semi final Ronnie won the other today. Allen produced a * outrageous 147 yesterday, one of the best I've ever seen, but both players playing well the now. Think this will be a stormer tonight.

Carter playing out of his skin. Produced a Masters record-breaking 3 consecutive centuries and beat Allen 6-3.

Think Carter is a cracking player and been underrated for a few years now. 17-1 record against Ronnie doesn’t make for good reading but I think he will at least run the rocket close tomorrow.

    * fell asleep and missed his 3 centuries :giggle1:

There's something about Carter I've always disliked, same with Allen actually, but give them both their due they're phenomenal players on their day.

Always worth watching Ronnie v Carter, grudge match and all that. Just feel even if Carter plays out his skin, if Ronnie fancies it he'll skelp him once again. Guy is just far too good for any *.

No doubt Ronnie at his best is untouchable. One of the reasons he’s so hard to beat though is the intimidation factor. A lot of these guys are beaten before they even play him. They can’t play freely, they can’t impose their game because they know they’re the inferior player. Hawkins for example.. the snooker Ronnie played against him, if his name was anything other than Ronnie O’Sullivan, Hawkins would’ve wiped the floor with him.

Carter’s mentality seems to be in the right place though. He’s working with Chris Henry, said from R1 he’s playing great snooker and he just said that he’s got some mantras he repeats to himself, one of them being “I am Masters champion 2024”

Aye that's a fair point there. It really is about mentality at that level, they can all pot the balls but you need to be absolutely solid in the head to have a chance against Ronnie.

It's probably now or never for Carter I think, can't believe he's never won a major for the amount of time he's been in the game. He'll be going all-out to try win this tomorrow which should make it a great spectacle.

Carter 5-3 up on Ronnie going into the final session. If he keeps up his form from earlier he's got every chance of winning it. Kinda hoping he does fir some reason even though I've never been particularly ford of the guy.

All set up now for a cracking finish, 6-6 first to ten and could go either way. Hopefully get a few centuries on the go.

Cracking wee piece from BBC there on past masters winners. Forgot Alan McManus won it back in the day, superb player at his best.

Ken Doherty missing the last black for a maximum to win a wee stormer of a Toyota car, * ouch :giggle1:

Carter hitting 9 centuries in the same major tourney is something else.

You feel Ronnie will go on and win this regardless.

Ronnie ahead for the first time here, big effort needed for Carter if he's to get over the line.

O’ Sullivan won 7 of last 8 frames to take his 8th masters, he is now the youngest and oldest winner of masters and we’re lucky to have him to watch, if you’ve ever tried snooker on a full size table you’ll get how talented O’ Sullivan is, with either hand

Carter completely folded at the end but you can hardly blame him. In the last frame he had a handful of chances to get in but didn’t even come close with his pot attempts. That onslaught from Ronnie was out of this world. At 48 years of age he’s still as good as ever. Amazing to watch really.

Felt bad for Carter last night. Over the course of the week he played the better Snooker. Ronnie just turned up when it mattered.

That being said, you could see the pressure getting to Carter in the semi v Allen

Aye. Ronnie basically when he shows up on form is unstoppable. Can start pish and erratic for five frames then just clear up the rest
