Small bands that are actually quite good

Well using the bands I already mentioned, The Script have had two multi platinum albums and high level festival appearances etc, hardly small.

Mumford and Sons have a platinum album, Grammy nominations and Brit Award wins.

The National's last album has sold over half a million copies, and they have routinely been featured in television shows and regularly play the likes of David Letterman and Jay Leno.

To me a small band, is one with little exposure, either unsigned or trying to make their name, not multi million selling artists or artists with four or five critically aclaimed albums.

I get where you coming from when it comes to bands like The Script or Mumord and Sons, I wouldn't class them as small but bands like The National are hardly big bands, I wouldn't necessarily say they were small though.

I'd base it on how well known a band is and I think if you asked 10 people you'd come across in the street then less than hald would have heard of The National. A band that does a certain type of music would struggle to become 'big' due to the ridiculous popularity of other types of music, they'll have their limited fan base.

and this is the most promosing band IMO lol jus kidding its my bands (edit we done 5 of these recordings within 3 hours of meeting each other so the songs end up a bit messy and long cause we are trying to improvise)
