So obvious.

I struggle to believe our away support was silent for 5-10mins

 

It's a joke, mate. Sounds a game down the park at times.

 

Or a game in the EPL !

Mics turned up so you could hear a fly fart.

 

Wonder if it's actually just the Rebs or they're also deliberately making the game look * up here to keep the TV rights cost to them down. Camera angles, the lot.

 

I know what they tell us about the atmosphere in the EPL mate but I watched a bit of Spuds v BNP Chelsea when Spuds were 2 up; in a derby; a grudge match and the home team were beating the top of the league 2-0 and there was virtually zero atmosphere.Even with the mics turned up. Like you say maybe they are turning them down because they don't want unfavourable comparisons.

 

They can turn it down all they like, the Rebs are echoing through this stadium today ain't a thing sky can do about it

 

Exactly. The fact is no one is watching Scottish football for the sake of it or as a neutral. Only those with a affinity to one of the teams playing.

As counterintuitive as it sounds. They don't need us or the game here to look any better than it needs to to serve that purpose. Hence the make the coverage amateurish almost seemingly by design/ lack of interest.

The EPL on the other hand has a contrived reputation built by Sky themselves to live up to.

 

That was my original point Gerry. If you turn the microphones down on our games it ends up sounding like an EPL game as very few of them have any atmosphere.

I don't want to derail the thread but a lot of folk at work told me how much they enjoyed watching our New Years Eve Game compared to what they watch week in week out.
