On Real Radio that Keith Jackson was laughed at by the Swiss FA(I think?) when he asked them about Sion being allowed to participate this year and banned for next year. :50:

Still cant believe people think that a ban for next year is an option. They wont even qualify for Europe next year.

I sense that any punishement will be attributed to the players, maybe a ban from playing for a certain amount of time. My fingers are crossed for re-instatement.

Just found an interesting article in a Swiss paper:

    http://www.lematin.ch/sports/football/le-fc-sion-dans-l’inconnu

    Translation (by google):

How does the disciplinary committee work?

Ten members make up the disciplinary committee. Nine of them can participate in the meeting this afternoon (see box), but their presence is not essential. A judge may very well attend the meeting via a teleconference system, as will the vice president of the Federation of Hungarian Sándor Berzi. It can also neglect the appointment and join the Secretary General of the Federation of Luxembourg, Joel Wolff, on leave until September 2.

Just three members need to attend the meeting to pronounce a decision. That the president to name them. Therefore, Thomas Partl could be chosen to surround himself with two people whose opinion is notoriously unfavorable to FC Sion? "No, said a committee member, because the judges are completely independent of the administration."

In general, the body control and discipline rule ten cases per meeting, or more. This afternoon, one of them will involve so FC Sion. It will be based on the report of the disciplinary inspector, who ordered the qualifications of recruits Sion. "This is not surprising, replica Christian Constantin. This is an Irishman, so close to Celtic, who works in the Chambers of Rigozzi, the lawyer who defended the Cup to the CAS at the El-Hadary! "

Despite the acquaintances, the judges will be based on this report, as well as other documents in the file (Celtic protest, reaction of the ASF, etc..), To render their verdict based on the principle of majority without its 'they can abstain.

I don't see this happening. I think UEFA will bottle it. A way will be found to keep Sion in this seasons competition, regardless of what wrong doing they may be guilty of.

Replacing a 4th seed with a 2nd seed – on paper – is unfair to the group, and there is no way UEFA will do a redraw. It's impossible now all the transfer arrangements will have been made.

Never thought of that, they would have to get a vote from the 3 clubs before the first round of games.Has this ever happened before(a team getting kicked out of Europe before group stage games)?

Would make quite an attractive group though. Guess Celtic attracts more people than Sion. Maybe Atletico, Rennes and Udinese prefer money to an arguably weaker opponent.
