Yes we should accept it, Sion broke the rules despite a warning right before the first leg about playing ineligible players. They cheated, plain and simple. Sion should be thrown out and an additional European ban of 3 seasons handed to them for bringing the game into disrepute. The 5 players they signed when they were under a transfer ban should have the remainder of their contracts paid to them by the club as compensation and their contracts invalidated making the players free agents and the Swiss FA should be heavily fined for allowing Sion to register ineligible players and allowing them to play in the Swiss league.

Yea, absolutely we take it !
As well as making some more money ( unlike the Huns - so sad - not! )
To be honest I think we can / would play better, nothing to lose, just go out and enjoy / express ourselves - Yea, no doubt, Go for it !

    * * will end up * it and we won't get back in. The fact that someone "inside" has said they are likely to be thrown out makes it all seem to good to be true. I hope to * we do, but a bit worried we're being built up for another fall.

Ah cannae take it anymore, roll on Tuesday.

Sion broke the rules so if we got offered the chance to get into the group stages then of course we should accept it.

According to the swiss guy, they DID register them on time (we can´t check that, obviously), so they were well registered but that has no effect as UEFA said they are NOT ELIGIBLE.

    Totally agree!!

The Swiss FA are as guilty as Sion for allowing them to register ineligible players with UEFA, they were warned along with Sion that action would be taken against them too if the players were indeed ineligible, no way should another club from their association be allowed to take Sion's place.

Anyway it won't be a case of being "offered" a place in the Europa League, Sion will have to forfeit both ties, two 3-0 results will be awarded to Celtic and we're in whether we like it or not.

Apparently the Swiss FA have backed off supporting Sion and are now saying FIFA are right. That's now FIFA, UEFA, the Swiss FA, The Court of Arbitration for Sport and the Swiss Supreme Court now all ruling the transfer embargo was still in effect when the players were brought in and played in games. Only a local court ruling has found in favour of Sion.

Surely that's why we've had the wee "insider" leak saying they are likely to be thrown out? It's got to be. They have everyone against them for * them off for not listening. I think it's more about the fact they didn't listen to the initial warning FIFA gave them, and played the players anyway, * them off more than signing players during the embargo.

Of course we should accept, * those swiss cheating *, these players need to play against top quality opposition to find out if they have what it takes to progress their careers and get better at players,

if that means sion getting booted out and us in then ill accept that as an early christmas present.

ps. along with a striker and cb please ! :p

Spot on! We do perform better in Europe against bigger teams going by past experience (minus 2 years ago....) so regardless what the negative folk say, I'd like to get another shot!

Of course we should take it!

It looks as though they knowingly cheated, as a direct result they gained an advantage.

We were shocking, no doubt, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't take our second chance.

Of course I want us to be reinstalled as Sion broke the UEFA rules! They played uneligible players, so I just can´t see any reason for us refusing this as we did nothing wrong (bar our players´ performance...).

If a silver medelist is told to get the gold medel coz the initial winner was full of drugs, would he ever refuse this??? Can´t think so!!

We should have been good enough to beat them on the pitch, there´s no doubt about that! So that´s a wee bit of an embarrassment, but nonetheless they broke the rules so they have to be out and us to take their place! There´s no reason to waive this! I´d gladly take it!!

I think it would be wrong to deny,Udinese,Athletico &
Rennes, the chance to play at a huge stadium with the
    attendant atmosphere:50:

I also think/believe we will go past that group,
& we will probably make 1 or 2 GOOD signings
    with the extra guaranteed income.:86:

If the shoe was on the other foot, they certainly wouldn't turn they're nose up at the chance.

    European nights back at Paradise,
Chance to attract better players (even if we don't have long!),
    TV money,
Chance to improve our co-efficient and pedigree on the Euro scene.

Just a few reasons to accept this chance.

But not getting my hopes up though, knowing our luck.
