There will be an uproar all over europe if this is the case as swiss teams would be treated diffrent from everybody else

exactly, what gives a swiss court the right to over rule FIFA and UEFA, especially when it is explicitly in the rules that national courts cannot intervene on football related matters such as this

if UEFA apply the rules correctly, sion will deservedly be out on their * for their cheating and we will be back in. :bbpd:

No, you´re not. Regulations of the UEFA Europa League 2011/12 say that:

Art. 18.01: "In order to be eligible to participate in the UEFA club competitions, players must be registered with UEFA within the requested deadlines..." It does NOT say that UEFA needs to accept the players registred. Strange but true :87:

Art. 18.05: "The club bears the legal consequences for fielding a player who is not named on list A or B, or who is otherwise not eligible to play."

Sion were told by UEFA before the 1st leg at Parkhead that their 6 new signings were ineligible, but they didn´t give a *, so they broke the rules and have to take the consequences.

wrote early on about this but wasn't to sure that it was correct, but if it's right shouldn't sion have faced expulsion for breaking uefa rullings and then taking the swiss fa to a civil court ????

Yes this is the case and he is chancing his arm. But, remember when Neil lennon got banned last season by the SFA from the dugout for 8 games and we hired a smart * lawyer to exploit a loophole because their rules were worded ambiguously. Well I wouldn't be surprised if Constantin has a smae idea up his sleave. Mind you he's dealing Uefa & Fifa. Not the idiots sitting in their school shorts dripping yoghurt all over them emailing funnies about the pope.

They woudlnt' take the Swiss FA to court they would just impose a ban on all Swiss teams from Europe and the National Side from Euro 2012.

In my opinion Celtic should be awarded passage into the group stages...we played by the rule book Sion never...what have we got to be embarrassed about!
If we are fortunate enough to progress through the backdoor.....ACCEPT IT and be thankful.

i heard that if we had won the tie and gone through we would have been in the 2nd seeds group and that sion were in the 4th seed group!

so if thats the case does the draw get redone ? because if it doesn't that would be mean there would be two 2nd seeds in our europa league group us and someone else ?

to me this is why this should have been resolved prior to the draw being made

It's already been cleared that we would go into the same group.

tbh, we cant really moan about replacing sion as fourth seeds, we should just be happy if we get let back in at all :50:

in theory, the other teams in the group might be annoyed at having two second seeds in the group but if theyve been watching our last 3 games they shouldnt be too worried! :56:

what about my point being there would be two 2nd seeds in our group and no 4th seeds like every other group then ?

    That seems unfair to me

uefa would love you mate, * sake

Sion broke the rules! they asked for clarification before they played us and were told not to play the players, they did and therefore have no excuses

and yeah im bothered about it because instead of having a supposedly 4th seed we have a 2nd seed to contend with and we are *

It's the nature of the beast unfortunately. We probably wouldn't have complained about Sion until after the 2nd leg. The draws the next day. They can't Reorganize everything else taking into account the expenses they would have incurred on venue and guests etc.

I'm happier that we've potentially got a tougher group. I want to see us against quality sides and Atletico & Udinese are certainly that, Champions League standard.

I think we're getting ahead of ourselves though, we'll look like idiots if Sion manage to stay in.

what you talking about; i've been very vocal about how sion should be chucked out for cheating :97:

all im saying is that i doubt uefa will bother with the seeding issue as a redraw would no doubt * up all the other clubs travel arrangements and all other sorts of things; if we get back in, we'll simply take sions place, and have to be happy with it :50:

well things are supposed to be done in an honest legal way this is a load of *

we shouldn't have to complain for uefa to implement their punishment in the first place so

after the first leg uefa should have immediately banned them replacing them with us in the draw and we wouldn't have had this bizzare situation! :47:

i agree with you there :50:, UEFA * up by letting it get this far; we should have known before the draw whether or not sion were in or out

it's just that bit that got me m8, i just thought you accepted it too easily

i wonder though if we had been on uefa right away after the first game about this whether they would have let us play the 2nd leg against them

i hate seeing 1 rule for one and another for some other * m8

imagine if the let they cheating * stay in i'll be * raging
