All these people that don't want us to get in the 'back door', personally, I can't think of anything more hilarious that the huns getting turfed out and us getting into the group stages on a technicality. :bbpd:

That is surely the mother of all wind-ups to every hun, regardless of the morality of it.

If we get in that way, to me, its absolutely * priceless! :50:

Get over yourselves and embrace the hilarity of it for * sake ...

I won't feel bad if Sion get thrown out at all. Its sad for their fans but the club knew they were braking the rules.

I know what your saying Ross is correct mate but * me gently [again in your case:icon_mrgreen:] Celtic should'nt be entertaining teams like Sion never mind than getting thumped by them ,Honestly i thought on Thursday night that Celtic would have taking them and then the team came up ,,don't get me wrong ,if Celtic get in ill be as happy as the next Bhoy ,,,the huns will hurt deeply ,,* they'll protest about it :56:

Sending off in the 1st minute Rab its a different game mate, I'm confident we would have took them all things being equal.

I swear if we go through on that technicality I will laugh my * head off and wind up every hun in sight, I honestly can't think of anythin more hilarious.:icon_mrgreen:

Get over myself? We'd get destroyed by Udinese and Atletico Madrid. There is no way in * we'd go through from that group so it's an extra 6 games we could do without. Let's focus on stopping these * from getting 4IAR.

It's hardly hilarious that we have to rely on a technicality to get into the Europa League. We were dumped out by Sion. It's embarrassing.

do we deserve to be re instated?

on thursday's performance? i would say no but to be reinstated would bring in extra money for the club and the chance to put a couple of good performances in and who knows we could go all the way!

Going by the rules Yes ,but with Uefa knowing that Sion were going against there rules ,Uefa should have acted before a ball was kicked before the 1st leg at Parkhead ,really unfair on there players and there fans ,thats not there doing .

If Celtic get the nod they will need to get there act together pronto ,being the whipping boys in the Europa League will be a hard one to take.

Yes, we do deserve to be re-instated due to them fielding ineligible players. But does it feel like we deserve to be re-instated? Most certainly not.

Based on Thursday night performance certainly not ,people will argue "But Maj got sent off after a minute" ,,I say the tie should have been over in the 1st leg ,Celtic should have blown them off the park at Parkhead.

Going to merge this with the other Sion thread.

Your right we should've sealed and dealed it at Parkhead, and I agree with you up till the Maj part. Maj getting sent off in the 1st minute was entirely his and Celtic's fault. We don't deserve any extra recognition simply on that basis.

"Maj got sent off in the first minute so we deserve another crack of the whip because we would've beat them if he didn't" is almost what it sounds like from them.

No chance. It's his fault he made a stupid tackle so early into the game, not Sions. A terrible excuse to come up with for me. And even with Maj sent off, we still should've breezed it. But clearly this team is nowhere near as good as we thought they were if they can't dispose of the likes of Sion.

I fear what the likes of Atletico Madrid and Udinese can and will do to us should we get the spot. :54:

First of all, I want to tell you that I’ve always had a lot of sympathy for Celtic and it’s supporters. I saw Celtic play in Zurich (in 98 or so) and in Milan in 2007. Last week I travelled to Glasgow and really enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere of all you guys in the city, inside and around the stadium. Concerning the football, I really believed that we had our chances, because we knew that Celtic and Scottish football were on the decline and that they would maybe underestimate an unknown Swiss side as we are. But as you could see yesterday, we can also play football (unlike we did in Celtic Park, where we just defended – too much in my view).

While browsing your forum here, I’ve read about a 100 times by now: “It’s a fact. Sion cheated, broke the rules, so they must get kicked out.” I’m afraid it’s not that simple. This is just UEFA’s and FIFA’s point of view. However, these two organisations are not above the law. We received a transfer ban for two transfer windows, which was also confirmed by the CAS. Nevertheless, it is not clear whether our club already served the whole penalty (that’s what Sion says) or only half of it (UEFA/FIFA). You can google for the Mexes case (AS Roma), the debate was quite similar. Chelsea had similar problems in the past. They both got away with more or less the same arguments as we brought up. But Roma and Chelsea are big names, unlike Sion.

Up to now, the CAS has not delivered a verdict on the question whether we served our penalty or not. That is the main problem. They’re just too * slow. If the CAS had made a decision before the season, everything would have been clear. As it was the only alternative to waiting for the CAS verdict, the players concerned were accorded a provisional licence by a Swiss civil court two weeks ago. Imagine the CAS said in September our players would have been allowed to play and we couldn’t let them play in the first games of the season. It would be a huge disadvantage.

Anyway... I’m not a legal expert or so. It’s an incredible mess and I don’t really know whose fault it is. I just wanted to state that not everything is as crystal-clear as some of you guys want it to see. The courts need to decide if Sion broke the rules or not and not FIFA or UEFA, who believe that they can do whatever they want. Our president is a freaking lunatic, everyone agrees on that. But on the other hand, he is the only guy who has the guts to face the mafia of FIFA, UEFA and the Swiss FA against which he has won quite a few cases already.

Cheers guys and good luck for the rest of your season (in SPL above all, please leave us Sion supporters our first Europa League group stages;))

    Welcome Silvan :50: Good post.

So do you believe Sion will be found not guilty then?

four leaf clover, just cant get enough.
Get rid of your play actors rolling all over the deck and maybe I'd support ya.

Fair play on everything else you said, I guess we will have to wait and see how it all plays out.

I have absolutely no idea. That's just what I wanted to point out. That not everything is clear.

But if you ask me, I'd say it's quite possible that UEFA will throw us out and that there will be a huge legal mess afterwards. UEFA are based in Switzerland and they can't just disregard a verdict from a Swiss Court. People already speak of a new "Bosman case". We'll see on Tuesday, but again... I'd say the hope for Celtic to play in the group stage is justified.
