They seem very confident of winning the appeal, there still going to Madrid onthe 15th. This guy is either very confident/smart or a complete nutter.

There is no precedent, you can't compare fielding ineligible players to bribery or the Bosman ruling. They are completely different. I have a feeling if this constantin guy starts going too far then Sion will get banned for even longer periods or time.

If they lose the appeal and this madman keeps on going taking it to civil court then i have a feeling Fifa will have no regrets imposing serious sanctions on them. It looks like he can waffle his way through a simple swiss court, i doubt he has the muscle to take on Fifa/Uefa.

Does anybody on here actually know what their arguments are for being allowed to field the players and flout the transfer ban? I personally havent read it anywhere! I think knowing that would go along way to figuring out whether or not they have a case.

They claim that they have already served the transfer ban of two transfer windows in several parts as AS Rome supposedly did in an earlier case. They say that FIFA's wording of the transfer ban was vague and unclear. They see their players as eligible and say that UEFA shouldn't intervene in a case that is still pending before the Court of Arbitration for Sports.

(I'm not willing to discuss on this again, just listing the main argument for "woodlandsbhoy86")

Meanwhile, Sion's president says the UEFA committee's decision on friday was not really elaborated, but made up before. In addition to Platini's advanced statements, he points out that the Celtic website allegedly posted the decision before the committee was supposed to meet. What do you guys think about this? Do you think the timing on the Celtic website is correct? If so, that would be a bit strange indeed, if you ask me.

Wouldn't surprise me if there were a number of articles pre-written and then hidden before the decision, then when the decision was made the relevant article was posted for everyone to see.

Just a guess, but it seems plausible.

To be fair, that article on the Celtic site does say 15:56 but it was NOT there until after the appeal. I know, I was checking on every site from after 4pm on Friday.

If I had to guess, they started preparing two articles before 4pm and only published the correct one after the decision was made.

That sounds very plausible to me. Thank you for the explanation.
